第一节: Possible version
Dear James,
Knowing that you ’re having such a tough time at the moment, I feel awfully sorry. I
definitely understand how you feel. So I’m willing to give you a hand and offer some practical
suggestions at your request.
To begin with, it’s a good idea to organize your study schedule to make it more manageable,
which helps relieve anxiety about unfinished tasks. If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to
turn to your teachers and classmates for help. Additionally, I strongly advise you to participate
in various activities so that you can keep yourselves relaxed and energetic. Lastly, sharing your
feelings with your friends and teachers is a good choice as you can remove your negative
emotions by doing so.
I do hope that my suggestions mentioned above are of benefit to you. Looking forward to
your early reply.
Yours,
                                                             Li Hua
第二节One possible version:
A week later, Anna received an unexpected email. Her heart raced as she read the email. It
was from the art competition committee, along with an invitation to the competition's final
exhibition. Her work had made it to the final round! Anna felt a surge of emotions--pride,
disbelief, and a hint of fear. Tears of joy streamed down her face. This recognition was not only
proof of her talent, but also a testament to her courage in sharing herself with the world. For the
first time, she felt proud, not fearful, of letting her art shine.
On the day of the exhibition, Anna walked into the gallery nervously. She thought to
herself, “What if people don't understand my painting? Will they laugh at me?" However, as
she approached her painting, Anna noticed a small crowd had gathered around it. Their faces
reflected appreciation and awe. Anna's self-doubt began to fade. She realized that her father's
dream was not just about fame, but about finding her voice and expressing her true self.
Regardless of whether she could win the scholarship or not, she realized she had already won.
听力原文
1.C
【原文】W: These oranges are so cheap. Aren’t they fresh or something?
M: They’re totally fresh and they taste amazing. The school kids usually buy a lot but the
schools are closed this week.
2.B
【原文】W: Good morning. How do you like your coffee, sir? Any cream or milk?
M: No, just black, with a touch of sugar. I’ll also have a glass of water.
3.A
【原文】M: There is a new drug that may prevent old people from losing their memories.
W: That would be great. Forgetting things is a great problem for the elderly. This discovery
could be very important.
M: Yes. I don’t want to lose all my happy memories when I’m old.
4.A
【原文】M: Oh no, high street is closed for the next six weeks. How will I get to work?
W: You’ll have to go the long way round. A long field street, then down Bell Lane.
M: I go that way when I go to the station.
5.C
【原文】W: Okay, I have cleaned out the cupboards, washed the dishes, wiped the table and
clean the windows.
M: Well done! Now sit down and relax.
W: No, I need you to move your chair. The floor is very dirty.
6.A 7.B
【原文】M: Do you have any books on the birds of China?
W: If we do, they will be on the far shelf.
M: Also I’m looking for books on animals and trees.
W: Again there should be a good selection on that shelf. It’s the one next to the fiction and
history sections.
M: Thank you. How long am I allowed to keep them?
W: You can take three books at a time. You need to renew them if you keep them for over three
weeks.
M: You’ve been very helpful. I’m hoping to find something written by my favorite writers.

8.A 9.B
【原文】W: Have you been waiting long?
M: No, a lady has just gone in. I think I’m the next one. I’m just having a checkup.
W: Oh lucky you. I’m having a tooth out.
M: Oh no, you have my sympathy. Does it hurt?
W: It does. It needs to be pulled out. And I’m scared. I hate these places.
M: Oh, it’s nothing to worry about. It won’t be painful. Has it been hurting for long?
W: I first felt the pain seven days ago. It just got gradually worse. Then yesterday, it was hard
to bear so I made an appointment.
M: I know what it’s like. When things hurt so much, you will do anything to stop them.
10.B 11.C 12.C
【原文】W: Oh I am so stupid.
M: What’s the matter?
W: I missed my flight. It left at 7 a.m. and the next one won’t leave until tonight. They leave
every 12 hours.
M: How did that happen?
W: I changed my watch from Spanish time to British time, so it will be right when I get there.
But trouble is that I forgot I’d done that.
M: Oh, that’s bad. I’m off to France but I haven’t changed my watch. I used my phone to tell
the time.
W: I left my phone in my car in the car park. This isn’t my day, is it? What shall I do for the
next twelve hours?
M: Read a book. Maybe you could buy one in one of the shops.
W: Looks like that might be the best idea.
13.B 14.C 15.B 16.C
【原文】W: Isn’t it amazing that we are still friends?
M: Yeah, we like the same things, don’t we?
W: Yes, how many people who got to know each other at primary school still remain friends
when they leave university?
M: I suppose it is unusual especially when we didn’t go to the same secondary school.
W: Yes and now it’s time to start our working lives. Did I tell you I have an interview with a
computer company?
M: Is this the one that makes artificial intelligence software?
W: No, this one makes computer chips. I haven’t heard from the other one yet.
M: Have you ever heard from any of our other friends?
W: I know Gary is having a gap year to see the world. Lucy is working for a foreign trade
company. Don’t you want to look for a job?
M: I’m going to stay on and do my masters before I look for anything.
W: Oh I can’t say I’ll miss university. Trying to cook in a kitchen with five other people. That
sort of thing.
M: I don’t mind that so much. Do you remember Stewarts attempts at cooking?
W: Ha-ha yes, whatever happened to him.
M: That’s a good question. I haven’t a clue. After university he just seemed to disappear into
thin air.
W: We must try to track him down sometime.

【原文】 For 35 years, the rich and famous came to John Harding’s London shop to get their
hair styled. His famous customers didn’t know John’s secret but they notice he rarely answered
the phone. That’s because if he did, he might need to check the appointment book or write
something down. And that was a problem because John was unable to read.
John grew up in a poor area. At school, he was in the worst class. He tried to hide his
reading problem as well as he could. At 16, he took a job at a hair shop. He went to school in
the evenings to learn how to cut hair and he won prizes for his skill later. Then he was offered a
job at a high class shop and there he met his wife Heather. She became one of the few people
who knew John’s secret. She helped him when reading was required. Aged 25, John
successfully open the shop where he would stay for 35 years, but he still has the reading
problem. At restaurants, he couldn’t read the menu 8 years ago. John’s wife died after 50 years
of marriage. Without her help, John decided to try again to learn. He joined a group that uses
volunteers to teach adults. John now reads newspapers like Daily Mirror and Daily Mail,
because the Times is too difficult. John says there’s a shortage of volunteers to teach reading.
How does he know? He read it in a newspaper.
