Dear Chris.
I am writing to share with you an art class I had in the park last Friday. Given your passion for
painting, I believe you would appreciate the fascinating experience I had. With the aim of relieving our study pressure as well as enhancing our ability to capture scenes
vividly, we were taken to the city park surrounded by tall trees, beautiful flowers and green grass
and required to draw a scene that impressed us most. I was first fascinated by the fantastic
scenery in the park and then a group of elderly people came up to my eyes. Bathed in the tender
morning sunshine, they were dancing merrily to the music, their faces full of smiles. I couldn't
help putting them in my painting. This experience not only served as a relief from academic
pressures but also provided a profound opportunity to engage myself in the colorful life and
beautiful nature as well as practice my painting skills. All in all, lam truly grateful for the
opportunity to have such a wonderful art class in the park. What do you think of my experience?
Looking forward to your comments.
Yours,
Li Hua
Dear Chris,
I am writing to share with you an art class I had in the park last Friday. Last Friday
witnessed an art class in a park. The whole class was filled with creativity and joy. I
can’t wait to share my extraordinary experience with you.
The task my teacher set for us was to draw the nature in our own way. I made a
work titled “The Vibrant Nature”. I started by sketching the contours of the main
elements, such as trees and flowers. Then I used different colors to fill in to create a
vivid atmosphere. At last, in order to make the picture more lovely and attractive, I also
added some beautiful birds and butterflies. My work was highly praised by my teacher
and classmates.
Taking an art class in a park gave me a novel experience and taught me to look at
the world from a different perspective. Was it interesting for you? I am looking forward
to your reply.
Yours,
Li Hua
Dear Chris,I am writing to share with you the art class I had in the park last Friday. It was a perfect
combination of art and nature.
Soaked in the vibrant colors of the park, I painted a landscape featuring a flourishing
tree surrounded by bright flowers. On the top of the tree stood several lovely birds,
which deeply touched my heart. I went great lengths to describe the harmonious scene
on the canvas. Overwhelmed with a sense of peace and relaxation, I felt intensely
connected with nature, which was wholly different from our conventional art class.
It was an incredibly refreshing experience! Have you been working on any artwork
lately? Looking forward to your sharing.
Yours,
Li Hua

through the branches added to the tranquility of the scene.

I met Gunter on a cold, wet and unforgettable evening in September. I had planned to fly to
Vienna and take a bus to Prague for a conference. Due to a big storm, my flight had been delayed
by an hour and a half. I touched down in Vienna just 30 minutes before the departure of the last
bus to Prague. The moment I got off the plane, I ran like crazy through the airport building and
jumped into the first taxi on the rank without a second thought.
That was when I met Gunter. I told him where I was going, but he said he hadn’t heard of the bus
station. I thought my pronunciation was the problem, so I explained again more slowly, but he still
looked confused. When I was about to give up, Gunter fished out his little phone and rang up a
friend. After a heated discussion that lasted for what seemed like a century, Gunter put his phone
down and started the car.
Finally, with just two minutes to spare we rolled into the bus station. Thankfully, there was a long
queue (队列) still waiting to board the bus. Gunter parked the taxi behind the bus, turned around,
and looked at me with a big smile on his face. “We made it,” he said.
Just then I realised that I had zero cash in my wallet. I flashed him an apologetic smile as I pulled
out my Portuguese bankcard. He tried it several times, but the card machine just did not play
along. A feeling of helplessness washed over me as I saw the bus queue thinning out.
At this moment, Gunter pointed towards the waiting hall of the bus station. There, at the entrance,
was a cash machine. I jumped out of the car, made a mad run for the machine, and popped my
card in, only to read the message: “Out of order. Sorry.”

I ran back to Gunter and told him the bad news.
Gunter
Much to my surprise, he urged me to get on the bus instead of getting angry or
disappointed, adding that I didn’t have to pay him for the ride for it was the
machines’ fault but not mine, with a broad smile on his face.
A feeling of relief surged through my whole body.(模仿原文语言特色,但不能抄袭,稍
Before boarding the bus ,I asked Gunter for his phone number,
ensuring that I was bound to pay him after returning to Vienna.
Hardly had I sat on the bus when it started to move. Instantly, an intense wave of relief
and gratitude surrounded me like a beam of sunlight, throwing me into a sense of kindness
and warmth.

me to get on the bus in no time instead of getting angry or disappointed, adding that I
didn’t have to pay him for the ride for it was the machines’ fault but not mine, with a

boarding the bus ,I asked Gunter for his phone number, ensuring that I was bound to pay
him after returning to Vienna. He just waved good-bye to me and wished me a smooth
journey . Hardly had I sat on the bus when it started to move. Instantly, an intense wave
of relief and gratitude surrounded me like a beam of sunlight, throwing me into a sense of
kindness and warmth.
Four days later, When I was back in Vienna, I called Gunter as promised. He agreed to meet
me in a delighted voice. A few minutes later, when Gunter got out of his car and approached me,
I rushed to him and gave him a bear hug, conveying my sincere appreciation to him. Then I gave
him the money along with a small gift. I gratefully informed him that it was with his assistance
that I didn’t miss my important conference. It turned out to be a turning point in my successful
future career life. Hearing what I said, Guter responded to me by flashing me a celebrating

my mind and had a profound influence on me in the rest of my life. A small act of kindness could
make a great difference to others.
I ran back to Gunter and told him the bad news. He looked at me in
disbelief, asking me what to do. Giving him another apologetic smile (呼应原
文), I asked him for a delay in payment and promised to call him and pay him
back the money I owed him ( 有 效 衔 接 第 二 段 首 句 信 息 ). To my surprise,
Gunter wrote down his phone number without hesitation and gave it to me.
“Just keep your promise, Sir.” A feeling of gratitude washed over me (无灵主
I gave him a firm handshake, jumped out of the car and
made a mad dash for the bus and jumped onto it just before it left
Four days later, when I was back in Vienna, I called Gunter as
promised. We met at the bus station where he had dropped me off four days
As soon as I saw him, I gave him a big hug. I
told him that thanks to his kindness and timely help, everything had gone
I paid him for
the ride, along with a generous tip, which he declined. I felt blessed to have
met such a warm-hearted man. After that, we became good friends and kept in
touch with each other regularly

smile. I thanked him and hurried out. As I boarded the bus just in time, I waved goodbye
to Gunter, who was standing by his taxi, feeling a mix of relief and gratitude.(合理的情

the Vienna airport.(合理的地点:作者出差开会结束,原路返程)When we met, Ihanded him the cash I owed along with a small token of appreciation – a local delicacy
from Prague.(合理的内容创设:一个感谢小礼物)“This is to thank you for your
help,” I said, smiling. Gunter accepted the gift with a warm grin, and we spent the next
hour talking about our lives and travels. Through this encounter, I not only attended
my conference but also gained a new friend. Gunter’s kindness left a lasting impact,
reminding me of goodness in unexpected places.

also restored my faith in humanity.

I ran back to Gunter and told him the bad news. He paused for a moment, eyes scanning the
dwindling crowd of passengers boarding the bus. Then, with a shrug of his shoulders, he reached
into his pocket and handed me a few notes. "Here, take this," he said with a smile. "It's enough for
your ticket. You can pay me back later." I was stunned by his generosity and quickly thanked him.
With a nod and a wave, I boarded the bus, feeling a sense of gratitude and relief wash over me.

pay him back for the money he had lent me. He refused, saying it was a small price to pay for a
chance to help someone in need. Our conversation ended with a promise to stay in touch, and I

Blood drains from my face. Gunter, panting for breath, shakes his head.Game over. Fate
seemed to be conspiring against me today. In the distance, I can see the luggage door of the bus
closing. The last remaining passengers are about to board the bus. I look towards Gunter.
I can’t remember the exact words of what I said to him then. It’s a bit of a blur.It goes
something like this.‘I know Gunter we’ve just met. But I really need to get on this bus. Otherwise I have to spend
the night here which will be bloody expensive. I have to buy a new bus ticket tomorrow morning.
I know we’ve just met but I am going to be back in Vienna in 4 days’ time. If it’s okay with you I
can pay you the money then. I’ll add an extra 10 euros for your hassle.’
Then an uncomfortable pause as I analyse Gunter’s face for his reaction.
Then the impossible happened. He nodded his head simply.
‘It’s cool. I accept this solution and trust you. Give me the name of your hotel and we can meet
there.’
I look at him. Biggest smile you can imagine. I give him the name of my hotel and we
exchange phone numbers. I board the bus and give him a big huge wave to my newest friend on
planet earth.
4 days later ...
I am back in Vienna to attend the Wiener Wiesn Festival. As promised, I call Gunter. He’s
happy to hear from me.
We meet at the airport where he works from. We embrace like long lost friends.Gunter tells me
that he wasn’t sure if I was going to show up but was happy to hear my voice when I called him.I
gave Gunter the extra €10 tip I had promised which he would not accept. He told me to call him,
the next time I was in Vienna and buy him a beer.Which I happily agreed to.If my faith in
humanity was wavering, Gunter restored it.Things have changed since we were kids. They tell me
that fairy tales exist no more.Well, they are wrong. Fairy tales DO exist. Thanks to the invisible
knights in shining armour. Call them angels or kindred spirits. They exist in this world. We just
don’t see them.Like the anonymous taxi driver who you meet at the airports of this world. Like
my anon Gozitan taxi driver or indeed Gunter.Definitely, the nicest, the best taxi driver you will
meet in Vienna and maybe Austria.
