When he was a little boy, he seldom caused any problems, and his family spent a lot of time
together.
【学法指导】seldom
（1）seldom不常；很少，副词。相当于hardly ever, 其反义词为often（经常）通常置于
实义动词之前，助动词、系动词或情态动词之后。在句中放在be、助动词或情态动词
后，实义动词前。该词表示否定意义，用于反意疑问句时，附加疑问部分用肯定形式。
如，She seldom goes out to eat, does she?
► She seldom goes out by herself.
她很少独自外出。
► He is seldom late for school.
他上学很少迟到。
（2）spend 花费（钱或时间），动词。
（3）主语人+spend+钱/时间on sth./doing sth.人花费......钱/时间在......。
如，She spent 10 days on a book./She spent 10 days reading a book./They spent a
week staying together.

（3）influence 影响，动词。influence sb. to do sth.影响某人做某事
