Part 3:
页 共 页当宾语从句由 what/who/why/how/when/where 等疑问词引导时,从句用于表达 “询问某事、某个情
I don't know what she is doing.(我不知道她在做什么。)
He asked who the new teacher is.(他问新老师是谁。)
She wants to know why he was late.(她想知道他为什么迟
到。)
how 怎样;如 询问方式 / Can you tell me how to get to the park?(你能告诉我怎么去公
Do you remember when we met?(你记得我们什么时候见面的
They don't know where the library is.(他们不知道图书馆在哪
I don't understand what is she going through.(疑问语序)
I don't understand what she is going through.(陈述句语序)
He asked where she lived.(主句过去时 → 从句过去时)
例:I know where she lives.(主句现在时 → 从句现在时)

You may know about “junk food” like French fries. But do you know about “junk sleep”?
A British survey shows that there are many electronic products in teenagers’ bedrooms. They are
influencing teenagers’ sleep badly.
The survey was done among 1,000 British kids from 12 to 16. It is found that 50% of them got just 4 to
7 hours’ sleep every day. But doctors say they need 8 to 9 hours.
Almost 25% of the kids said they often fell asleep while they were watching TV, listening to music or
using other electronic products.
“The results are very worrying,” said Dr. Chris, a British professor, “We call it ‘junk sleep’. It means you

felt tired each day because of the junk sleep, especially girls between 13 and 16. Nearly all the teenagers have

Five Tips to Improve Your Memory
Most of us know that our brains become smaller in size as we get older, but did you know that diet and
lifestyle have an effect on how well our brains work?
A study shows that eating lots of fruit, vegetables and proteins(蛋白质)improves memory. 1
Eating oily fish or dark chocolate (with over 70%cocoa) and taking Vitamin D3 can also help make your
memory stronger.
2 A 2011 study showed that regular exercise actually increased brain size. Another study found
that exercise improved memory in some older people; surprisingly it found that one single training period had
the same effect on memory as a regular, long exercise period!
One study found that eight weeks of short, daily meditation(冥想)improved memory. Other ways to relax
can also improve our short-term memory. Try taking 5-10 minutes of your day to meditate or listen to music. 3
Experts say that age reduces our ability to learn, but sleep can help. 4 A 2019 study found that
students learned things better before and after a short sleep!
5 Try to memorize information like phone numbers and addresses rather than putting the
页 共 页information in your phone. You could also learn a language or do brain training like crosswords
A.Or even just take a shower!

D.To keep your brain in good condition, you need to use it.

Has a person ever held a door open for you warmly? How do you feel after playing with friends? What’s
your favourite family memory? These questions all focus on connecting with people. “Let’s Connect” is the
theme of this year’s Children’s Mental Health Week, which aims to improve mental health by building healthy
social connections.
Humans naturally seek connections with family, friends or community members. Healthy bonds (关系)
bring energy and support-we all need others to celebrate joys and share worries with. They also boost physical
health and help people live longer; research shows loneliness can slowly damage health. The key to connections
isn’t the number of relationships, but their quality.
How to build connections? Julia Clements, the event organizer, says there are many ways: in-person or
online with friends, parents or teachers. Connections aren’t limited to humans—some feel close to pets or nature.
She suggests using actions and words: being kind, listening to others and trying new experiences work well.
Everyone may feel lonely and avoid talking sometimes. Remember connections change-some grow
stronger, others fade (变淡). Clements advises sharing feelings with trusted people or safe organizations like
They can help form new connections or fix strained (紧张的) relationships.
