Little Gecko Borrows Its Tail(小壁虎借尾巴)

One sunny day, a little gecko was busy catching mosquitoes in a corner. Suddenly, a sneaky snake slithered up and bit its tail! The gecko wriggled hard and managed to break free, but it lost its tail in the process. "Oh no! I look so strange without my tail," the gecko thought. "I should borrow one."

So, it started its journey. It crawled all the way to the river. There, it saw a little fish swimming merrily. "Fishy, could you lend me your tail?" the gecko asked. "Sorry," the fish replied. "I need it to swim."

Next, the gecko climbed up a big tree. An old ox was there, munching on grass. "Ox uncle, may I borrow your tail?" the gecko pleaded. "No way," said the ox. "I use it to shoo away flies."

Finally, the gecko reached the eaves. Swallows were flying around. "Aunt Swallow, please lend me your tail," the gecko begged. "Can’t do," said the swallow. "I need it to steer."

Feeling sad, the gecko went home. When it told its mom, she just smiled. "Turn around, dear," she said kindly. The gecko did and was thrilled to find a new tail!

This story shows that every animal’s tail has a special job. And when we face problems, we should keep trying like the gecko. We might find that things work out just fine in the end.
