Recently, the first application (应用) of concrete 3D printing technology in building construction (建
筑) in Hubei province, the new countryside housing project in Daye, was officially reported.
Built by the First Company of China Construction Third Engineering Bureau (中建三局一公司), the
Daye countryside housing project is a provincial-level project in Huangshi city, covering an area of 20
hectares (公顷). The project’s community design is made up of countryside houses, countryside parks, high-
standard farmland and landscaping (景观) to create a picturesque neighborhood.
The project manager, Yuan Hu, explained that 90 percent of each structure is prefabricated, allowing
the main structure (结构) to be finished in 4 to 5 days. The house walls, inside and outside decorations are
made from high-performance green and environmentally friendly materials, which provide a protection from
heat, noise, and water and a comfortable living environment year-round.
Thanks to the three-step design, loading and 3D printing process, each house can be built in just a
week. The excellent design and construction technology stand for an upgrade to countryside housing
development and the construction industry. What’s more, energy-saving is included through the whole
project. Rooftop panels collect sunlight and turn them into power, reducing the need for electricity.
At present, the project team is developing a countryside park and areas for fishing, woodcutting,
farming, reading, landscaping and fruit tree planting. Other tasks include land leveling, farmland slope
protection, soil fertility protection and building irrigation (灌溉) and drainage ditches (排水沟) and roads.

Have a look at the picture. There is a fairytale (童话) treehouse in it. Radamshome, a lovely dad, built
it for his daughter. It is really beautiful, isn’t it?
Radamshome is an artist (艺术家). His job is to make video games. One day, his daughter said that she
dreamed ( 梦 想 ) to have a fairy tree in her bedroom that she could sit and read books inside. So
Radamshome decided to build a fairytale treehouse for his daughter.
Radamshome said that he began with an idea, and then drew a picture. Next, he made a scale model
