Parents love us best in the world. As children, we should do something to show our love for them. Here are a
few of my ways.
Make a card. You may think making a card is a little thing, and most of you may never try it. My parents
keep all the cards from me. They say the cards are treasures to them. So why not make a card for your parents?
▲ My dad and mum are busy every day. They need to work and do housework. All these things make them
tired, so I always keep my room clean and tidy. How about you? Do you often clean your room?
Make a meal. Parents are tired after a day’s work. Making dinner for them can give them a break. I am too
young to do it by myself, so I ask my sister to help me cook.
Say sorry and thanks. If I do something wrong, I will say sorry to them. If I do that, they will know how I
feel. After they do a thing for me, I always say thanks. I can also do something else for them to show I am sorry or
I’m thankful, like writing a letter and drawing pictures. I think you can give it a try, too.

Does your family share the chores?
Does everyone do their part? If your answers to the questions are no, you will want to take a look at the story
of Miss Potkin, a Twitter user.
Miss Potkin is a British mother of three children. She seemed to do all the chores at home. She was tired. So,
she decided to stop doing chores to see how long it would be before someone started to help with the chores.
Miss Potkin first stopped doing the dishes, “I make all the dinners, and I am tired of having to do all the
cleaning too. My family is going to run out of clean dishes. Who will do the dishes first? Not me,” she wrote
online.
Miss Potkin then stopped doing the laundry (洗衣服). A week later, her family had no clean clothes to wear.
Next, Miss Potkin stopped doing other chores. As a result, the house was a complete mess. She said that it was hard
to see the mess and she felt a strong impulse (冲动) to take matters into her own hands, but she held up.
Her excitement started to build up when she noticed her husband putting dirty bowls in the dishwasher three
days after she stopped doing the dishes. Although he forgot to turn the dishwasher on, things started to look up.
Then, all of her family started to help with the chores. They did the laundry, cleaned the house, took out the
rubbish...
