What are the differences between old and young people when using apps?

– young people  are willing to try new stuff (stuff是口语化的things,写作不要用,写作其实things也不推荐,从句或具体名词比较书面) and learn fast – 所以更容易学会怎么用新的apps, 比如新游戏,新social media,or like AI-related tools.

 old people, on the other hand, tend to stick to (keep/continue using) what they’re used to.

Young people often use apps for studying or work. However, old people usually use apps mainly for leisure(for fun也可以). This is because 时间多->没事干->看interesting short videos感觉开心。

Why do some people not like using apps?

Really? I thought everyone likes using apps. At least, from my observation, all my friends spend tons of (tons of是口语化的a lot of/many) time on their phones every day.

However, if anyone does hate using apps, I guess they prefer the traditional way of doing things, like writing letters, looking up a paper dictionary, or finding information from books.

What apps are popular in your country? Why?

I believe there are many popular new apps in recent years, especially last year when AI became a thing (become a thing是口语话表达类似became popular/important or jsut appear). However, Tiktop is undoulbtly the most popular app in my country, or even all over the world.

Tiktok(抖音)是一个挺好用的话题,1-4月的科技类P2题目也涉及,我们就说它最经典的流行理由,algorithm(算法,这个词不熟直接跳过),知道你的preference,然后feed/recommend/push content you like.

It is popular among people at all ages. And I think the main reason is that the app is super smart. It learns what you like and dislike (忍不住想加一点了,track应该不算难词 by tracking your viewing history). And then, the app will keep recomomending (如果我说我可能用flood,就只是提一下) similar content to you. Therefore, compared with traditional video apps…

Should parents limit their children’s use of computer programs and computer games? Why and how?

其实不难,bad for the eyesight – stare at the screen for a long time -> bright light will strain (hurt) your eyes- causing short sight/ near sight.

除此之外还可以说become addicted, distract from study,spend too much time, no time to review course work, fail exams.

Do you think young people are more and more reliant on these programs?

yes,因为更忙了学的更多了,app提高效率;另外累,entertainment apps 比如游戏音乐视频,clear mind and escape the pressure。

What do you think about some countries banning children from using social media?

so it’s not very practical/ hard to implement.

Do you think it’s important to plan ahead?

准备-> anticipate potential problems (know aht problems you might face)-> perform better     如exams,interviews,making a public speech

What activities do we need to plan ahead?

especially those involve a lot of time, money, or other people.

Do you think children should plan their future careers?

Should children ask their teachers or parents for advice when making plans?

Yes, – grown ups (adults) have more life experience.

– 可以trust,they will take responsibility, 和网上stranger 或者peer相比,更reliable

Is making study plans popular among young people?

Do you think choosing a college major is closely related to a future career?

Well, it actually depends on what major you choose. For those majors that involve technical skills and knowledge, the answer is yes. For example, most of my friends who study engineering or computer science end up doing jobs related to their college majors after graduation, and infact, their core courses at university  play an important role at work. However, for other majors, especially business or liberal arts (liberal arts是文科,science是理科), the major itself usually doesn’t limit their career prospects. Like, a management student ususally don’t really become a manager, instead, they often start with entry-level jobs like marketing or consulting, or even start a career in other fields, such as becoming a teacher.
