Most people agree that trees look nice. But not too many people know trees can also help us save money¹.

Environmental scientists found one tree can save a city about 2,800 yuan over its lifetime².

One way trees save money is by helping us save energy. Big trees block² the summer sun and winter wind to keep buildings cool or warm.

For example, trees’ leaves and roots take in rainwater before it gets to the dirty sewers³. If trees take in much rainwater, cities will spend less money cleaning water.
