media studies program. At the end of a 12-hour day on the set of The lce Queen
Society, which was shot on campus, Guzman realised that he could happily continue
for hours on end.
“I remember thinking this was the best thing in the yard,”he said.“Then I
stopped and thought,'oh,this is what it feels like to do something you love.'That was
the moment I fell in love with acting."
Guzman pursued his newfound passion in the classroom through film studies
courses, as well as classes on screenwriting and script analysis(脚本分析).His
favourite class was“Writing the Television Pilot".To develop comedy writing skills outside
the classroom,Guzan joined the Robber Barons. and the students sketched a comedy
group that performed in the Geology Corner Auditorium. As a junior,Guzman spent the
winter quarter studying in Madrid with fellow Stanford students through the Bing
Overseas Studies Program.
Guzman, who was planning to move to Los Angeles to make a career in acting,
said he would miss the stimulating conversations and intellectual enthusiasm of Stanford.
But he was ready for the next stage of his life and the opportunity to use his art for
good.
“ I'm a Stanford student and I might shoot too high sometimes , ” he
said.“Obviously,it's a cliche(陈词滥调)to say I want to make a change in the
world. But that's a beautiful thing— something a lot of Stanford students want to do.And
I think that's wonderful.”

“ls the glass half empty or half full?”This old English saying has long been used
to tell a pessimist from an optimist. For most young people today, the answer is
usually“half full”,because we have been taught that a positive attitude towards life is
one of the primary keys to success.
However,is this necessarily a good thing? Recent studies indicate that it all
depends. There is such a thing as too much positivity. It happens when someone remains
in a happy and positive state and ignores any bad and negative emotions across all
situations. But as a matter of fact, it is normal for us to experience any emotions. The
death of a pet or loved one,a low score on a test,or a mountain of new homework
should lead to emotions such as sadness, frustration and anger. If we hide these
emotions just because we want to look optimistic in font of our friends and family,
they can build up inside of us and end up erupting in unexpected ways. There is new
evidence to suggest that many of these overly positive people are at a risk of
developing drug or alcohol addictions as well as other psychological problems.
Aside from the personal emotional impacts, this attitude can also have a negative
effect on the people around you.Imagine having had a bad day,and wanting to talk
about it with your friend. However , instead of listening to your problems and
sympathizing with you, they simply told you to "be positive” and give you the
impression that your problems are being completely ignored. Just take everything as it
comes and express how you really feel. This makes you human, and your true friends
will always stick by you.
So my simple advice to you is to do what gives you the best “attitude”in life,
whatever for you that might be.Regardless of whether a glass is half-empty or half-full,
it nonetheless still has space to fill.
28.why does the writer mention the glass at the beginning of the text?
A.To give some evidence B.To introduce the topic
C.To present an argument D.To explain his ideas
29.What is he writer’s attitude to the person who remains positive across all situations?
A.Negative. B.Supportive. C.Doubtful. D.Unclear.
30.What is the main idea of paragraph 3?
A.The cause of overly positivity
B.The prevention of overly positivity
C.The bad effect of overly positivity on others
D.The bad impacts of overly positivity on personal emotion31.Which of the following may the writer agree with?
A.Positivity is the key to success
B.We needn't stay positive all the time.
C.There isn't such a thing as overly positive.
D.Positivity always does a harm effect to our lives.

The Earth's population is expected to reach 9.7 billion by 2050.Experts estimate food
production will have to increase by 70 percent to keep pace with that growth.Previous
methods of agriculture will soon no longer be an option.According to a 2018 study,we
have to turn away from meat and dairy products.
U.S.customers have proved themselves willing to test the waters.Americans spent
$1.4billion on plant-based meat in 2021,representing a market share of 2.7 percent of
all meat sales. The plant-based food companies claim their burgers use less and and
water 'and produce 1greenhouse gases. But,consider the possibility that we left our
most promising resource behind in the ocean. Will you swap meat for seaweed?
“I think seaweed needs branding(品牌),”says Mark Kulsdom,co-founder of the
memorably-named Dutch wed Burger As Kulsdom explained Dutch weed Burgers are
vegetarian but for meat eaters.A decade after launching their first product,he and his
partners now sell about quarter of a million burgers each year.
Ultimately, Kulsdom is striving for a culture change."I believe we need to raise
interest sometimes by using a bit of an unorthodox ( 非 正 统 的 ) approach to
things , ” he adds.“ When people get what they already know , it's not that
interesting. When their curiosity is awakened, that's when new things and ideas can
enter their minds.”
In 2008,researchers discovered 14,000-year-old seaweed fragments(碎片)in
southern Chile that had been pressed into cakes and clearly been cooked,As they
wrote in science, all seaweed recovered at the site are excellent sources of iodine,
iron, zinc, protein, hormones and a wide range of elements. Though Mark Kulsdom's
Dutch Weed Burger sounds futuristic, one could argue that they're revisiting one of the
oldest stories we know.
