[课文改编] Cholera used to be one of 1 (frightening) diseases. In the early 19th
century, when 2 outbreak of cholera hit Europe, millions of people died. But neither its cause
nor its cure was understood. A British doctor, John Snow, wanted to solve the problem and he
knew that cholera would not be controlled 3 its cause was found. In general, there were two
