In my first few weeks of high school, learning English was a huge challenge. The
numerous unfamiliar words made it hard for me to keep up in class. Additionally, expressing
myself in English was tough, which made me less confident.
With these problems in mind, I turned to my English teacher for advice. Following her
suggestions, I started reading short passages and noting new words, which gradually
expanded my vocabulary. To enhance my oral English, I made every effort to practice
speaking at school and watched English programs at home.
Now, I participate actively in class and have even signed up for an English speech
contest. I firmly believe that the more effort I put in, the more progress I'll make.

“Whatever you like to call yourselves”与上文问题相呼应,且“we can enable you
37. D 该 空 后 的 “ However, they learned the language faster than more
advanced learners.”
D项中的“85% of our participants were complete beginners to
38. F该空后的“but after only three weeks, they could successfully talk with a
“Before taking the challenge, they struggled to even comprehend German
needed to study by using the German Tutor app for about two hours per
B项中的“You don’t need to spend a lot of time”概括了本段内容,故B项正确。
40. E该空前的“It is easy to use and the sense of success can greatly motivate
them to continue their learning.”
99% of the participants said they wouldn’t stop using the app after the
41.C下一句“I feel I could never understand it”表明代数对于我而言很令人头疼。
50.A 同上。

And now to some local news here in Scotland. A Glasgow man is believed to be the first person
to run along every single street in the city. Twenty-five-year-old Martin started the project in
April 2020 as a way to lose weight. He mapped the streets using a mobile phone app. (19) It
showed him the streets he had already run down. In total, he ran 1500 miles, or 2325 kilometers. It
is the same distance as Glasgow to the Russian capital of Moscow. Martin, who works as a
geography teacher at a local high school, (20) has been sharing his story with his students. One
of Martin’s students, Amber, said it was very inspiring to see one of his teachers do something like
this. Martin is now taking a relaxing holiday. That’s all from us. Have a nice evening.
