一条新高铁开始铺轨

Track Laying Begins for a New High-Speed Railway

On October 1, workers began to lay tracks for a new high-speed railway in China. They put the first long rail down at Nanchong North Station in Sichuan Province. The steel rail is 500 metres long. The railway runs from Chengdu to Wanzhou, and it is 477 kilometres long.

The whole line needs about 890 kilometres of track. Workers will also build 178 sets of switches. Some parts of the line go through big hills. There are long tunnels and steep slopes, so the work is hard.

When the railway opens, the trip from Chengdu to Wanzhou will take less than two hours. It may open in 2027. Many people are waiting for this fast and easy way to travel.

In one activity, children follow young guides to learn about the space station. In another, they walk through a maze about the deep sea. They can also build models of old Chinese weapons and try old ways of building walls.

The museum's big cinema shows 15 science films every day. One new film is about the Arctic and its animals. Many families come here to learn and have fun together.

There are also big screens and lights. They help visitors see what the old army looked like long ago. Many people want to visit this famous place in the holiday.
