Work in pairs. Use what you have learnt in this unit to compare different English learning websites/apps and present your findings to the class.

1 What English learning websites and/or apps do you use? Choose one that you like best, and compare it with your partner’s. Use the questions below.

Today I will compare two English learning apps: Baicizhan and Shanbay.

今天我要对比两款英语学习软件：百词斩和扇贝单词。

I use Baicizhan.

我使用百词斩。

It is for students to memorize words.

它供学生记忆单词使用。

It uses colourful pictures to help remember new words.

它用色彩丰富的图片帮助记忆新单词。

It is easy to use and updates its word books often.

它使用简单，并且经常更新单词书。

There are some ads, but not too many.

里面有一些广告，但不算太多。

I love its picture examples best.

我最喜欢它的图片例句。

But it only helps with vocabulary.

但是它只对词汇学习有帮助。

My partner uses Shanbay.

我的搭档用扇贝单词。

It is also for English learners.

它同样面向英语学习者。

It has word learning, articles and listening practice.

Its interface is clean with fewer ads.

It updates reading materials daily.

My partner likes its free articles most.

Both apps are great for learning English words.

两款软件都很适合学习英语单词。

Baicizhan is more fun, while Shanbay has more reading resources.

百词斩更加有趣，而扇贝单词拥有更多阅读资源。

You can pick one according to your needs.

If you want to build your English vocabulary, these two popular apps are worth trying.

It is made for all student learners.

However, it mainly works for vocabulary and cannot cover all English skills.

To sum up: Baicizhan makes word learning fun with pictures.

Shanbay is better if you want to practise reading at the same time.

如果你想同时练习阅读，扇贝单词会更好。

Neither can teach you everything, but both are useful tools for English learners.

两款软件都不能教会你全部知识，但对英语学习者来说都是有用的工具。
