Ⅱ.阅读理解 A 2022·全国甲卷 记叙文 320词 ★☆☆☆☆ Sometime in the early 1960s, a significant thing happened in Sydney, Australia. The city discovered its harbor. Then, one after another, Sydney discovered lots of things that were just sort of there—broad parks, superb beaches, and a culturally diverse population. But it is the harbor that makes the city. Andrew Reynolds, a cheerful fellow in his early 30s, pilots Sydney ferryboats for a living. I spent the whole morning shuttling back and forth across the harbor. After our third run Andrew shut down the engine, and we went our separate ways—he for a lunch break, I to explore the city. “I'll miss these old boats,” he said as we parted. “How do you mean?”I asked. “Oh, they're replacing them with catamarans. Catamarans are faster, but they're not so elegant, and they're not fun to pilot. But that's progress, I guess.” Everywhere in Sydney there days, change and progress are the watchwords (口号), and traditions are increasingly rare. Shirley Fitzgerald, the city's official historian, told me that in its rush to modernity in the 1970s, Sydney swept aside much of its past, including many of its finest buildings. “Sydney is confused about itself,” she said.“We can't seem to make up our minds whether we want a modern city or a traditional one. It's a conflict that we aren't getting any better at resolving (解决).” On the other hand, being young and old at the same time has its attractions. I considered this when I met a thoughtful young businessman named Anthony.“Many people say that we lack culture in this country,” he told me.“What people forget is that the Italians, when they came toAustralia, brought 2000 years of their culture, the Greeks some 3000 years, and the Chinese more still. We've got a foundation built on ancient cultures but with a drive and dynamism of a young country. It's a pretty hard combination to beat.” He is right, but I can't help wishing they would keep those old ferries. 1.What is the first paragraph mainly about? A.Sydney's striking architecture. B.The cultural diversity of Sydney. C.The key to Sydney's development. D.Sydney's tourist attractions in the 1960s. 2.What can we learn about Andrew Reynolds? A.He goes to work by boat. B.He looks forward to a new life. C.He pilots catamarans well. D.He is attached to the old ferries. 3.What does Shirley Fitzgerald think of Sydney? A.It is losing its traditions. B.It should speed up its progress. C.It should expand its population. D.It is becoming more international. 4.Which statement will the author probably agree with? A.A city can be young and old at the same time. B.A city built on ancient cultures is more dynamic. C.Modernity is usually achieved at the cost of elegance. D.Compromise should be made between the local and the foreign. B 2022·唐山摸底 说明文 285词 ★☆☆☆☆ Harper Lee (1926—2016) was an American novelist widely known for To Kill a Mockingbird (published in 1960), which won the 1961 Pulitzer Prize and has become a classic of modern American literature. The 1962 film adaptation starring Gregory Peck won three Academy Awards. For decades, the book was Lee's only major work of published fiction, but it was hugely influential for generations of US readers. It has sold more than 40 million copies, and is one of the most widely taught novels in the US schools. In 2007 she was awarded the Presidential Medal ofFreedom for her contributions to literature. Lee wanted to live a simple life and was never comfortable with the attention the novel won her, and she practically disappeared from public life after it appeared. The world, however, continued waiting for a new novel from her, and on occasion she suggested that she had a story in progress. In 2015, a book did come out. Go Set a Watchman was more of a first draft, featuring Scout, the young girl who was the main character of To Kill a Mockingbird. Go Set a Watchman tells a story of Scout as an adult. Though Lee moved to New York in 1949, she spent many years guarding her privacy in Monroeville, which served as the clear inspiration for the setting in To Kill a Mockingbird. In 2007, Lee suffered from a stroke (中风), but recovered and later settled in Monroeville permanently to care for her sister, Alice, who died in 2014. She was said to eat breakfast every morning at the same fastfood spot, and was friendly with her neighbors. The countless Americans knew her only through her works, and they will undoubtedly miss her. 5.What can be learned about Harper Lee from the first two paragraphs? A.She was regarded as the greatest writer in America. B. She made great contributions to American literature. C.She once starred in a film adapted from her own novel. D.She had limited influence on American readers. 6.Why did Harper Lee disappear from public life after her first novel came out? A. Because she was dissatisfied with the American society. B. Because she wanted to focus on another novel. C. Because she intended to recover from the stroke. D. Because she wasn't comfortable with public attention. 7.What do we learn about Harper Lee's Go Set a Watchman? A.It is largely based on her own life story. B.It is adapted for a famous film C.It won her the Pulitzer Prize. D.It continues the story of her earlier novel. 8.What can be used to describe about Harper Lee? A.Influential but simple. B.Badtempered but productive. C.Caring but stubborn. D.Inspiring but struggling. 黄金考点 语法填空——介词 考点8 介词的基本用法 The far side of the moon is of particular interest to scientists because it has a lot of deep 考例 craters (环形山), more so ________ the familiar near side. 点拨 考查介词。根据设空处前的more可知,设空处应填介词than。 考点9 介词用于固定短语 考例 Bamboo plants are associated ________ health, abundance and a happy home. 句意:竹子与健康、富足和幸福家庭联系在一起。be associated with为固定短语,故 点拨 填with。
