The moment when I got on the plane to China will probably stay in my mind for the rest of my life. I was
leaving my best friends in Germany. A feeling of worry and nervousness rushed through me. They tried to
make me believe that we would meet again.
But the truth is that I was leaving and they were staying, so I was losing them forever.
So when I set foot in my new class on a cold winter morning, I didn’t feel excited. New classmates were
looking at me in a very strange way. My face immediately turned red. A lot of people talked to me on my first
day, but I was afraid to look them in the eye. I felt that if I made new friends, I would be giving up my old
friends in a way.
Things turned around on a sunny afternoon. I was stuck with my Chinese homework and had no choice
but to ask my classmates for help. I thought they wouldn’t be nice to me as I hadn’t been so close to them
before. To my surprise, however, they were quite friendly. Gradually, I started to make friends with them, and
we’ve had countless great memories since then.
Now I still miss my old friends very much, but I don’t feel that I’ve abandoned them. I know they’d
feel happy for me. True friends are never apart maybe in distance but not in heart. So don’t be afraid of losing
something, just let it go. During the progress, you’ll discover that you never really say goodbye to it. Instead, it
becomes a part of you, helping and guiding you in life. Trees lose their leaves, but those leaves fall to the
ground and help the trees grow. Let our lives grow as trees do.
25.Why didn’t the writer feel excited when he set foot in my new class ?
A.Because he couldn’t make friends in China.

C.Because new classmates were looking at him strangely.
D.Because he was losing his best friends in Germany.
26.What surprised the writer when he was stuck with his Chinese homework ?
A.His classmates wouldn’t be nice to him. B.His classmates were quite friendly.
C. His classmates were not close to him. D. A lot of people didn’t talk to him.
27.What is the Chinese meaning of the underlined word “abandoned”?
A.放弃 B.想念 C. 感激 D.担心
28. What can we know from the last paragraph?
A.The writer doesn’t miss his old friends B.The writer is afraid of losing something.
C.True friends are never apart t in heart. D.Trees lose their leaves in fall.
(C)Inspired(启发) by Journey to the West, a Chinese American teen boy builds a close relationship with the
Monkey King. This story is told in American Born Chinese (《西游ABC》), it is aired(播出) on Disney
Plus.
This action comedy is based on the graphic novel(漫画小说) of the same name. It shows teenager Jin
Wang dealing with high school life in the US and pressures at home.
The series(剧集) is the latest in a growing list of films and shows looking at the Chinese American
experience in recent years. The trend(潮流) seemed to really kick off with the 2018 hit movie Crazy Rich
Asians.
After this,We’ve seen more works looking into the Asian expatriate(旅居海外的) experience in the West
with both its good sides and difficulties. Most of them also look at the relationships between families. For
example, in Everything Everywhere All at Once, a traditional Chinese mother battles(较量) with her
Americanized daughter after starting a life in the US. Films like this discuss the differences and connections
between East and West.
But why are there so many films looking at the Chinese American experience in recent years? Perhaps it’s
something to do with how both countries are superpowers with successful cultures. The films show a healthy
level of togetherness. They show that, even with different backgrounds(背景) and ideas, when these two
worlds listen to each other, they can not only get along but create something special.
29.About American Born Chinese,we can know that _________.

D.It is about the star Jet Li in the comedy.

A.encourage Chinese people to visit the USA more often.
B.advise more people to focus on Chinese films and shows.
C.help people realize the importance of learning English well.
D.wish the people to build a shared community for mankind.
(D)For many, the winter season can affect their mood(心情) with cold weather and less sunlight, it can be
hard to keep a positive attitude. But why not look for a way around this? And what better place to look than
Scandinavia where people are ranking(排名) among the happiest, even though they deal with the coldest and
darkest winters? Three suggestions are often used to keep a “positive wintertime mindset (心态)”.
Getting outside is the first suggestion. The Norwegian idea about “open air life” is very important.
Dress warmly for the weather and enjoy the cold air. Being outdoors can refresh you. Being out in nature—
even for a short time can improve both our mental and physical health. So go skiing, sledding, snowboarding
or ice-skating—as long as you’re outside, you won’t regret it.
Making winter special is the second way. Celebrate the darkness of winter with light. Gather around the
fireplace with your family or light candles. In the Danish language, enjoying something warm is called hygge.
Hygge is the antidote for the cold winter and the rainy days. Wrap yourself in warm blankets and drink hot
chocolate. These will help you through the coldness of winter.
Thanking winter is also a good idea. Start with focusing on the positive things of winter, rather than the
negative, Thank the white beauty of the first snowfall. Show off your new sweater, coat, scarf or boots. Be
thankful for the illumination (照明) of light during days that are increasingly dark. Welcome the changes in
seasons, instead of regretting them. If we keep an eye on the positive things, we can surely get good mood.
33.From this passage, we can infer that in winter, ________.
A.people always have bad mindset B.the temperature in Scandinavia is very low
C.it’s hard to find something to thank D.people in Denmark use candles to get light

C.We can focus on the bad things of winter
D.Getting outside is good for our health.
36.The passage mainly wants to tell us ________.

C.Suggestions to keep positive mindset in winter D.different ways to thank winter
