although,so that及 until 引导的状语从句
【教材原句】①Although it's normal to want successful children, it's even more important to have happy
children.尽管想要成功的孩子是正常的，但是有快乐的孩子甚至更重要。
②But why don't you forget about it so that you can be friends again?但是你为什么不忘记它以便你们能再次成
为朋友呢？
③“In some families,competition starts very young and continues until the kids get older,”she says.她说：“在一
些家庭，竞争开始得很早，并一直持续到孩子们长大。”
状语从句就是在主从复合句中作状语的从句。状语从句分很多种，如时间状语从句、原因状语从句、条件
状语从句、结果状语从句、目的状语从句等。本单元主要涉及的是由 although,so that 及 until 引导
的状语从句。
1.although 引导让步状语从句，意为“尽管；虽然”，相当于though,even if 和even though.其引导的状语
从句可以放在主句前或主句后。
Although he is only 8 years old,he can work out the problem alone.尽管他只有8岁，但他能独自解决这个问题。
2. so that意为“以便”，多引导目的状语从句，其引导的状语从句一般放在主句后，且不用逗号隔开。·
He speaks loudly so that others could hear him.他大声说话，以便其他人能够听到他。
3.until 意为“直到······为止”，引导时间状语从句，其引导的状语从句常放在主句之后，也可以放在主句
之
前。如果主句为一般将来时，从句要用一般现在时表示将来。until 用于肯定句中时，意为“直到·····为
止”，主句谓语动词必须是延续性动词。until用在否定句中时，意为“直到······才”，主句谓语动词通常
用非延续性动词。
She often watches cartoons until her mother comes back.她经常看动画片直到她妈妈回来为止。
We didn't go home until the rain stopped.直到雨停了，我们才回家。
