一、时间状语从句
【教材原句】
①The minute I sat down in front of the TV,my mom came over.我一坐在电视机前，我妈妈就过来了。
②My mom came over as soon as | sat down in front of the TV.我一坐在电视机前，我妈妈就过来了。
③I'l finish my homework while you help me with the dishes.你帮我洗碗时，我会完成作业。
【句式结构】“the minute/as soon as+时间状语从句（主语＋谓语＋其他）”意为“一······就······”，强调
两
个动作几乎同时发生；当主句是一般将来时时，从句用一般现在时；当主句是过去时时，从句也用过去时。
while引导时间状语从句时，意为“当······的时候”，可表示两个动作同时发生，也可以表示一个动作发生
时另一个动作正在进行，此时从句的谓语动词应用延续性动词。
典例
①Jack's mother was so tired.She fell asleep she lay down on the bed.

【解析】根据前一句句意“杰克的妈妈很累。”可推断此处表示“她一躺在床上就睡着了”。as soon as
意

二、“the+比较级，the+比较级”结构
【教材原句】The earlier kids learn to be independent,the better it is for their future. 孩子们越早学会独立，对他们的未来就越好。
【句式结构】“the+比较级＋主语＋谓语，the+比较级＋主语＋谓语”结构意为“······越······,······就
越······”，前一分句为条件，后一分句为结果。表示一方随另一方程度的变化而变化时，表结果的分句可以
用一般将来时。the用在形容词或副词的比较级前。
The more we do for others,the happier we will be.我们为他人做得越多，我们就越快乐。
The more careful you are,the fewer mistakes you will make.你越细心，你就会犯越少的错误。
典例
The （努力）you work,the more progress you'll make.
【解析】由后半句及空前的The可知此句为“The+比较级，the+比较级”结构，结合语境“你越努力工作，
你将会取得越大的进步。”可知应填 harder.
