考向 37 读后续写之如何构思故事情节
读后续写的情节构思是续写成功与否的关键点之一。而在续写中，侧面描写的作用不
容忽视。运用侧面描写，可以对人物进行多角度映照和多层次烘托，人物的描写就会达到
“横看成岭侧成峰”的丰富境界。 侧面描写有“以旁面写正面”、“以对面写正面”、
“以反面写正面”三种方法。如果从一个侧面去描写，人物形象往往单薄。如果从多个侧
面去描写，人物形象就容易丰满。在写作中，我们可以尝试以下几种侧面烘托法：景物烘
托法——通过对自然景物的描绘，来烘托人物心情；他人反映法——听听他人的反映，去
了解主人公的个性特征；借人写人法——通过对受影响者的刻画，间接地表现主人公的思
想品质。

emerge（重新出现） again on your left.
When I was bathed in the sunlight, it felt like the amber-like sunshine was kissing every inch of my skin.

（三）Good setting description for appreciation (佳“景”赏析)

The house smelled musty and damp, and a little sweet, as if it were haunted by the ghosts of long-dead

The sun kept dipping down into the ocean and the lights came on at the harbor, casting sudden shadows on
the ground, illuminating the faces that were just a second ago silhouettes. The sky was golden and purple, the
ocean a darker shade of violet.
The sun had set, but a faint pastel haze lingered in the mid-summer sky.

everywhere. When we walked on the crisp snow no shadow showed the footprint. We left no track. Sledge,
tent, himself, myself: nothing else at all. No sun, no sky, no horizon, no world.
Night had fallen fast upon the land. No more than an hour ago the sky was painted with hues of red, orange
and pink, but all color had faded leaving only a matt black canvas with no stars to be looked upon.
It would be a cold moonless night. The sky was dark and low, the air so chilled it hurt to breathe. Already
the ground was laid white with frost and any water that had been liquid under the winter sun had become ice.

“Thank you everyone for my times here. I will forever keep these memories and friend-ships I've made in the past
five years.” He took a deep breath and announced, “As a gift for my leaving, please look under your seats.”
Confused, I slowly checked under my seat to see a yellow block of wood that read “LOVE” on it. I quickly grabbed
it and began to study it. After seconds of analyzing this strange rectangle, I realized that it was a Jenga block (积木块).

signaled, “Can you help me?” I did not stop, instead proceeding into the mailroom, thinking. This is my day off. I hardly
ever take a day off. I don’t want to get pulled into this situation, whatever it may be.
Then my conscience got the better of me. He’s probably just here to see his adviser, I reasoned. Let me ask him who
he is here to see, and I will simply call up, it will take two seconds.
So I did that, I approached him and asked if I could help, and he surprised me by lifting up a shopping bag full of
clothes. “We’re here to donate these,’’ he said. It was then that I noticed a young woman by his side.
“That’s so nice,” I replied. “Thank you very much. Will you please write down your name and address so we can
properly thank you?” I passed over a sheet of paper.

terrified of her. She had failed first grade and was a year older than me. Mildred didn’t have any friends, so she seemed
to concentrate on making enemies. Because I was one of the smallest children in first grade, she had selected me as her

Pretty soon my mother figured out something was wrong at school. I didn’t want to tell her about Mildred. Mother

that night. The next morning she said, “Marion, I’m going to walk up the hill with you today. I believe we’ll see
Mildred.” Mildred walked from way across down to school. She never bothered me on the way to school, only afterward.
“Oh, mama, please don’t do that! Don’t say anything to Mildred. It will just make her mad. Let me stay home by
myself. Please, mama.”
“Hurry and get dressed, Marion.” Her voice was gentle, but quite firm.
“Ple-e-ease, mama.”
“Trust, Marion. I have a plan.”
We bundled up against the bitter cold wind and stared out. Maybe we wouldn’t see Mildred, I hoped. But my
mother had this confident look. I knew the look well, and I had a sinking feeling that we would see Mildred and that
mother would use her “plan”.
Just as we were turning around at a corner when we spotted Mildred. We waited a few moments as she approached

Harry drew pictures of Antony's glider lifting with the wind. Gradually, hearing the happy laughter and shouts of
more children outside, he felt sad to be in his room while everyone else was there.
Harry began to make a kite. He took two sticks from his craft bin and crossed them. He tied them together and
