survey /ˈsɜː(r)veɪ/ n. 调查
【用法】
survey 在此处作可数名词,意为“调查”。make/do a survey (of...)意为“做(有关……
的)调查”。
The teacher told us to make a survey of doing housework.
【拓展】survey还可作动词,意为“查看;调查”。
They surveyed the damage caused by the storm.
知识点② did homework carefully to meet the standards
of a strict teacher (教材 P105 1b)
standard /ˈstændə(r)d/ n. 标准;水平
standard在此处作可数名词,意为“标准;水平”,living standards “生活水平”。
People here have a high standard of living.【拓展】standard还可作形容词,意为“标准的,通常的”。
Televisions are a standard feature in most hotel rooms.
知识点③:He gave really clear instructions during P. E.

instruction /ɪnˈstrʌkʃn/ n. 指示;命令
instruction在此处作可数名词,其复数形式instructions常用来表示“用法说明,操作指南”。
常用表达有:
give instructions (on...) 给出(……方面的)指示
follow the instructions 遵循说明书;按照用法说明

double /ˈdʌbl/ v. 加倍;是……的两倍 adj. 两倍的;加倍的
(1) double在此处为不及物动词,意为“加倍;是……的两倍”。它还可作及物动词,其后
可直接跟宾语。
The price of rice doubled this year.
Happiness was doubled when shared.
(2) double还可作形容词,意为“两倍的;加倍的”。
My colleague is off today, so I have to do double work.
【拓展】double作形容词,还可意为“双人用的;双重的”。
Can I book a double room for next week?
It has the double advantage of being both easy and cheap.

知识点⑤:Shall we get each of them a card and gift to
say thank you? (教材 P106 2d)
shall /ʃæl, ʃəl/ modal v. 将要;将会
shall是情态动词,在此处意为“将要;将会”,不能单独作谓语,后接动词原形,通常与
第一人称连用。其过去式为should。
This time next week I shall be in Shanghai.
We said that we should be pleased to offer help.
Shall we…? 我们……好吗?
“Shall we…?” 用于表示建议并征求对方意见。
其肯定回答有:OK. / Good idea. / Sure. / Certainly. 等;
其否定回答有:Sorry, I…/ I’m afraid not. 等。
— Shall we play basketball this afternoon?
— Good idea! Do you have a basketball?

texts.(教材 P108)【用法】
have problem with“在……有困难” 相当于 have problems in doing sth e.g.
Did you have any problems with your homework?
你在家庭作业方面有困难吗?
= Did you have any problems in doing your homework?
类似短语有have trouble / difficulty with sth /(in) doing sth“在某方面做某事有困难”
e.g. I have diffculty understanding it.
我理解这事有困难。
I have trouble with math this term.
这个学期我学习数学有困难。
知识点⑦:I can’t believe how fast the time went by! (教
材 P108)
【用法】
go by是不及物动词短语“(时间)逝去,过去”
e.g. I forgot many things of childhood as time went by.
随着时光流逝我忘记很多童年时代的事情。
Two years has gone by since he returned home.
自从他回到家,已经过去了两年。
