After staying in space for six months, Zhai Zhigang, Wang Yaping and Ye
Guangfu came back to the earth at last at 9:56 a.m. on April 16th, 2022. They flew to
theTiangongspace station byShenzhouXIIIspacecraft onOctober16thlast year.
The astronauts did a lot of work during the Shenzhou XIII mission. Zhai and
Wang had two spacewalks, and it took them more than 12 hours. Wang became
China’s first woman spacewalker. The three astronauts also gave two science lessons
to Chinese students.They showed us how they lived and worked inside the big space
station. Wang used a Bing Dwen Dwen toy to show us how things flew in the space
station.
“I am feeling very good. We want to report to the motherland and the people that
we successfully completed the Shenzhou XIII mission,” said Zhai. Wang said she
wanted to tell her little daughter that “Mom returned after reaching for the stars”. Ye
wasexcited. He saidhisdream of flyingto space came true.
