us to places all over the world. Today I chose a country in Europe, that’s the United Kingdom of
Great Britain and Northern Ireland.
It’s an island country. It is made up of England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. The
capital of the UK is London. Kings and queens were once its rulers. And the UK has a long
history like China.
There are many places to visit in the UK. Buckingham Palace is the most famous palace in
this old European country. It has been the home of kings and queens for a long time. If we
want to learn a lot about the world’s culture in the UK, don’t miss the museums there,
especially the British Museum. The UK also has many places of natural beauty, such as the Lake
District.
The weather often changes in the UK, so prepare for it before we go there. The best time
to visit there is from May to September, because its winter is wet and cold. Moreover,
remember that take some pounds with you if you go there.

had some great holidays with my family. We’ve driven
through the amazing countryside in the north, and we’ve
gone skiing a few times in the mountains.
But the best trip I’ve ever had was when we travelled
to the south of France last summer.We flew to Paris, and
the next day we caught the train to Avignon—the fastest
train I’ve ever been on! During our week in Avignon, we
