her jaw)。
blood)
跨模态融合:将动作描写与环境细节绑定(例:紧张时 "crinkling the paper in her hand",纸张褶皱声

Her thumb rubbed absentmindedly over the smooth surface of the pendant,
a nervous habit she'd had since childhood.)。

Her sandals slapped wetly against the pavement as she ran, each step splashing rainwater
into the air—a mirror of her chaotic thoughts.)。

His eyebrows shot up when she mentioned the surprise, a grin spreading
across his face before he could hide it.
Kevin was pretty bored. His mother was at work, and his father had been away on business. Therefore, he was
left in the care of Mrs. Hill, an old lady who lived next door. His parents had raised the 12-year-old to be a good
boy. He never got into trouble, though sometimes he wanted to do risky things. Mrs. Hill was asleep. Kevin sighed
(叹息) and hoped something exciting would happen. Suddenly, a movement outside caught his eye.
Mrs. Hill’s front window faced Mr. and Mrs. Green’s house across the street. The couple had both gone to
work, so it was strange that someone was over there. Kevin stared at the man at their front door. Suddenly, the man
jumped through an open window into the house. With his heart in his mouth, Kevin grabbed Mrs. Hill’s home
phone and called the police.
Thinking that the man might get away with whatever he wanted before the police arrived, Kevin decided to do
something. He rushed out of Mrs. Hill’s house and crossed the street quickly. Grabbing a branch from a cut-down
tree, he jumped in through the window. “Stop right there! You must leave right now!” he called out, holding the
branch with both hands.
The man froze for a second, but when he saw the skinny boy he breathed a sigh of relief. “Hey, kid, put that
down. It was my home. My parents used to live here and my father’s watch was here,” he explained, trying to lift a
floorboard.
At that moment, the sounds of a police car echoed (回响) in the air. The man stood up in a panic, then ran
through the house toward the window and jumped out. Kevin followed out and told the arriving police officers
what had happened. They pursued and arrested the man.
Kevin went back to Mrs. Hill’s house. Somehow he wasn’t sure he had done the right thing. “What if he has
told the truth?” he thought to himself. The man’s words sounded pretty convincing.
注意:
1.续写词数应为150 左右;
Paragraph 1: When Mr. and Mrs. Green got home, Kevin went to talk to them.

Paragraph 2: Kevin and Mr. Green took the watch they had found to the police station.
Step 1 确定核心情感→uncertainty(怀疑/不确定)
Step 2
   初始怀疑:clutching the doorknob tightly(紧紧攥住门把手,指节泛白,体现紧张)
   矛盾加剧:twisting his fingers nervously(手指无意识地绞动,显示内心挣扎)
   犹豫前行:shuffling his feet(拖着脚走路,步伐沉重,反映迟疑)
   急切求证:pacing back and forth(来回踱步,速度加快,体现迫切)
   困惑不安:furrowing his brows(眉头深锁,眼角微颤,强化疑虑)
   如释重负:relaxing his tense jaw(紧绷的下巴放松,嘴角轻垂,暗示释然)
怀疑初现:biting his lower lip(咬住下唇,牙齿轻压黏膜,显示轻微不安)
矛盾升级:nails digging into his palms(指甲陷入掌心,留下月牙形红印,体现纠结)
真相揭晓:shoulders slumping(肩膀垮下,呼吸绵长,表现释然或失落)
手部动作+声音:crinkling the edge of his T-shirt(指尖揉搓T 恤边缘,布料摩擦声与心跳同频,强化焦
1.Paragraph 1
Clutching the doorknob tightly until his knuckles turned white, Kevin hesitated outside Mr. and Mrs. Green’s
door, his brows furrowed like tangled threads. The setting sun cast long shadows across the porch, as if stretching
out invisible hands to hold him back.
“His father’s watch? The one with the cracked dial?” Mrs. Green exclaimed, her eyes widening. Kevin’s nails,
which had been digging into his palms, suddenly relaxed, and he shuffled his feet awkwardly, a flush creeping up
his neck.
3.Paragraph 2
Holding the rusty watch in his sweaty palm, Kevin paced back and forth in the police station lobby, the click-
clack of his sneakers on the tiled floor matching the rapid thud of his heart. When a detective confirmed the serial
number, his tense shoulders finally slumped, a long sigh escaping his lips like a deflated balloon.
Paragraph 1
When Mr. and Mrs. Green got home, Kevin went to talk to them. Kevin’s throat felt tight as he shuffled across
the street, his fingers twisting the hem of his shirt. “Um… about the man today,” he stammered, avoiding their
gaze. Mrs. Green’s smile faded as she listened, her hand pausing mid-air while unlocking the door. “Wait—was he
tall, with a scar above his eyebrow?” Mr. Green interrupted, his voice sharp. Kevin nodded eagerly, his heart
pounding. “That’s Mike, their son!” Mrs. Green exclaimed, rushing to pull out an old photo. In the picture, a
grinning boy clutched a silver watch identical to the one the man had tried to lift from the floorboard. Kevin’s jaw
dropped, guilt swirling in his stomach like a storm.
Paragraph 2
Kevin and Mr. Green took the watch they had found to the police station. The police station’s fluorescent
lights hummed unpleasantly as Kevin stepped inside, the watch heavy in his hand like a stone. A detective squinted
at the engraving on its back, then smiled faintly. “It matches the report from 10 years ago—Mr. Green’s father
reported it stolen when the house was renovated.” Kevin’s shoulders, which had been hunched like a scolded
puppy, suddenly relaxed. He glanced at Mr. Green, who was rubbing the watch tenderly, and felt a lump form in his
throat. “I’m sorry I doubted him,” Kevin mumbled, staring at his shoes. Mr. Green clapped him on the shoulder, his
own eyes misty. “No, kid—you did the right thing, trusting your instincts.” The room seemed to warm a little then,
the hum of the lights fading into a gentle buzz.
贴合人物设定:内向者多使用glancing away 等收敛性动作,外向者常用slapping someone on the back
服务情节推进:动作需推动叙事(如reaching into her pocket for a key 暗示接下来的开门动作),避免

My 12-year-old daughter is smart, even sharper than I was at her age, but she just wouldn’t pick up a chapter
book for fun. School books were tough for her, and when it came to free time, she stuck to picture books and
listened to “Harry Potter” audiobooks. None of these really got her into deep reading, where you stare at words on
paper and let your imagination fly.
For a while, I had to face the truth: I hadn’t passed on the joy of reading to her. I tried telling her how reading
makes life richer, but she shrugged (耸肩) and said, “Lots of my friends don’t like reading either. It’s no big deal.”
Things went worse when she got a smartphone last year. Suddenly, my lively child became lazy, always on
her phone. I suggested other fun activities, but she just found theme “boring.” I still held out hope for reading,
seeing it as a developmental escape. But the problem was that she chose the colorful, noisy world of her phone.
Then, right before we left for an 8-day holiday on a beautiful Greek island, we talked about reading again.
“Novels are the best way to understand how people feel,” I told her. “I can learn more from social media,” she
replied. I mentioned storytelling and history, and she said, “I can watch movies and use the internet.” I even
promised to buy her any books she liked, but she smiled and said, “Mama, welcome to your dream.”
I realized I couldn’t win. She had good reasons and I couldn’t say she was wrong. Sure, reading opens up
new worlds, but so does the whole internet. Still, deep down, I wished she’d experience the pure magic of reading
—those special moments when an author says exactly what you’ve always felt but never knew how to express.

It was late, about 10:15 p. m., when Janice Esposito arrived at the Bellport, New York, train station. Very
exhausted from the day but eager to get home to her husband and 7-year-old son, she jumped into her minivan and
began the 20-minute drive without any delay. She had just returned from visiting her mother and had travelled the
route so many times, so she practically drove on autopilot: a left onto Station Road, then a left on Montauk
Highway. But fate had a cruel twist in the store — wham!
Out of nowhere on that awful night of October 10, 2017, a car hit Esposito’s minivan, pushing her backward
some 100 feet onto the railroad tracks. She sat in the minivan, her mind a complete blank. Though slightly injured,
she was mostly stunned by the violent impact and the sudden explosion of the airbags. Panic welled up immediately
as she realized her dangerous situation, but the shock made her almost immobile.
As it happened, Pete DiPinto, a 64-year-old volunteer firefighter and retired teacher, was getting ready for
bed. He’d just closed his book when he heard a huge crashing sound. Without a second thought, he leaped out of
bed, grabbed a flashlight, and, still in his pajamas, dashed out the door. “Any firefighter would have done what I
did,” he later said in an interview. “We’re always on duty,” he added firmly, with a determined look in his eyes.
The first car he came upon, 2,000 feet from his front yard, was the one that had hit Esposito. After quickly
checking that the driver was unharmed, he scanned the area and spotted Esposito’s minivan straddling the railroad
tracks. Then, his blood ran cold as he heard the sound of bells signaling an oncoming train, and the faint glow of
the train’s headlights was visible in the distance. DiPinto knew he had mere seconds to act.

It was an Art lesson. Rachel sat at the desk watching her classmates busy preparing the water jars and paints.
She understood why Mrs. Weston asked her to sit down and got Lisa to fetch everything for her. It was always a
disaster when Rachel tried to do Art!
Rachel sighed and reached out to dip her brush in some black paint and—oh, no! She knocked over the jar.
The water spread across the desk and drowned the paper. Lisa called Mrs. Weston to see what Rachel had done.
Rachel went red in the face. She jumped to her feet to get a cloth. Her chair fell over backwards. She turned round
and her paintbrush caught Lisa across the face, giving her a black moustache. Lisa was so surprised that she fell
back against a wire book stand. It came crashing down and the books went all over the floor.
How clumsy! Rachel thought as she went home on the bus. The bus stopped outside her house. She jumped
up and her elbow knocked a woman’s hat right over her eyes. Oh, no! Rachel said sorry, got off and ran indoors.
Mum wasn’t in the kitchen but lay in bed as she caught an awful cold. Rachel offered to make a cup of tea but Mum
would rather wait for Dad. Rachel sighed. She understood Mum was afraid she would spill(溅出)it.
“But would you go to Mrs. Willow for some cold cure?” asked Mum. Rachel turned to the door at once. “But
Rachel, Mrs. Willow’s house is full of beautiful things, so if she asks you to come in, you’d better say no.” Rachel
sighed and ran out.
Mrs. Willow was an old lady with white hair and sharp blue eyes living in an old house. She opened the door
and invited her in. Rachel said why she came and that she preferred to wait outside remembering her mother’s
warning. Mrs. Willow insisted Rachel come inside. Rachel took a deep breath and stepped in. She looked round
Mrs. Willow’s sitting room and saw at once why Mum had been worried.

Growing up, I believed I had no artistic talent. My older sister was the “creative star” in our family, with her
beautiful paintings proudly displayed on our walls. Meanwhile, my drawings were dismissed as“silly” by
classmates, and even my stick-figure tree in art class received a cold comment from the teacher. By age ten, I had
stopped drawing altogether. “Art isn’t for everyone,” I told myself.
Years passed, and I found myself in a dull office job. During lunch breaks and late nights, I would sketch
ideas in a small notebook, hiding it from curious eyes. My inner voice whispered, “You’ ll embarrass yourself.”I
feared the same rejection I had felt as a child.
Everything changed when a friend invited me to a creativity workshop. I hesitated, but something urged me
to try. At the first session, the instructor asked us to sketch a childhood memory. My hands trembled as I recalled
my father teaching me to fish by the lake. “I can’t draw!” I protested, but unwillingly picked up a pencil. To my
astonishment, the instructor held up my rough sketch and said, “This tells a heartfelt story.” For the first time,
someone saw value in my art.
Encouraged, I took a month-long leave from work and immersed myself in art. I visited museums and
galleries, realizing that art is about honest expression, not perfect technique. I bought watercolors and began
painting messy yet meaningful scenes from my childhood. Each line was a step toward rediscovering my creativity.
Slowly, I silenced my inner critic, understanding that fear had choked my artistic voice for far too long.
Months later, I rented a small downtown studio. The space was modest but full of potential. I filled the walls
with sketches and paintings, each a small victory over my past insecurities. As I worked, I realized this studio could
be more than just mine — it could be a space where others could express themselves through art, free from
judgment.

After our family settled in America, we made our home on Pearl Street in New York’s Chinatown.
Downstairs from our apartment, my parents managed a small Chinese bakery. My mother chose my name after our
street address — Pearl Wong.
Like many strict Chinese mothers, mine constantly stressed the need to excel. “Be the best or be forgotten,”
she’d say in her choppy English. She inspected my school grades like a detective, ready to scold me if she saw a B
instead of an A.
One holiday, my brother got a chess set missing several pieces. Mom called it “worthless trash,” but my
siblings and I couldn’t stop playing with it — especially me. I flooded everyone with questions: “Why can’t this
piece move farther?” “Why does that one attack sideways?” My mother wiped flour from her hands and gave me
the rulebook. “You figure it out,” she shrugged.
I studied every page, memorized strategies, and practiced until my fingers memorized the board. Before
long, I was defeating my brothers effortlessly. Each win sharpened my skills and fueled my obsession to dominate.
When I began competing in tournaments, trophies ( 奖杯) started piling up. Mom transformed into my
loudest cheerleader — in her unique style. She demanded perfection at every match and arranged each prize in the
bakery’s display window. Though I begged her to stop, she’d wave me off. Soon, her cakes sat beside gleaming
awards. “This my Pearl — chess genius!” she’d boast to customers, glowing with pride. But her boast made me feel
like a puppet (木偶), as if my victories belonged to her, not me.
One weekend, Mom dragged me from shop to shop in Chinatown, not buying anything. “Meet Pearl Wong
— chess queen of our neighborhood!” she announced to every store owner. Their forced smiles tightened as we
stayed, their annoyance growing with each introduction.
