  • 空格前有冠词(a/an/the)或形容词 → 需要名词

adj. + n.

  • 因果关系:because, therefore, as a result → 空格处填原因或结果

  • 举例关系:for example, such as → 空格处填具体例子

  • be responsible for 对...负责

  • be capable of 有能力做

  • be aware of 意识到

  • be likely to 有可能

  • be subject to 受...支配

  • result in 导致

  • result from 起因于

  • contribute to 促成

  • focus on 专注于

  • deal with 处理

  • tend to 倾向于

  • account for 解释/占...

Passage 1:
The Impact of AI on the Job Market
Artificial intelligence (AI) is rapidly transforming the job market in ways that were unimaginable just a decade ago. While some experts warn that AI will eliminate millions of jobs, others argue that it will create new opportunities that we cannot yet foresee.According to a recent study by the World Economic Forum, AI is expected to displace approximately 85 million jobs by 2025. However, the same report suggests that 97 million new roles will emerge, resulting in a net gain. The key question is whether workers can adapt quickly enough to the changing demands.Jobs that involve repetitive tasks, such as data entry and assembly line work, are most vulnerable to automation. In contrast, roles requiring creativity, emotional intelligence, and complex problem-solving are likely to remain in demand. "The jobs that are safest are those that require uniquely human qualities," says Dr. Sarah Chen, a labor economist. The challenge for governments and educational institutions is significant. They must prepare the workforce for jobs that do not yet exist. This requires a fundamental shift in how we think about education and skills training. Lifelong learning is no longer optional; it has become a necessity.Despite the concerns, there is reason for optimism. Historical evidence shows that every major technological revolution has eventually created more jobs than it destroyed. The key is ensuring that the transition is managed well and that no one is left behind.
1 According to the World Economic Forum report, what is the net effect of AI on jobs?
  • A. A net loss of 85 million jobs

  • B. A net gain of 12 million jobs

  • C. No change in total job numbers

  • D. A net loss of 12 million jobs

85→97, net gain = 97-85 = 12 million。选B。

2 Which type of jobs are most vulnerable to AI automation?
  • A. Jobs requiring creativity

  • B. Jobs involving emotional intelligence

  • C. Jobs with repetitive tasks

  • D. Jobs involving complex problem-solving

Jobs that involve repetitive tasks...are most vulnerable to automation"。

3 What does Dr. Sarah Chen mean by "uniquely human qualities"?
  • A. Physical strength

  • B. Speed of data processing

  • C. Creativity and emotional intelligence

  • D. Ability to work long hours

前文提到"roles requiring creativity, emotional intelligence, and complex problem-solving are likely to remain in demand",因此"uniquely human qualities"指的是创造力和情感智能等。选C。

4 What is the main challenge for governments and educational institutions?
  • A. Reducing the number of jobs

  • B. Preparing workers for jobs that don't exist yet

  • C. Stopping AI development

  • D. Increasing repetitive task jobs

They must prepare the workforce for jobs that do not yet exist"。

5 What is the author's overall attitude toward AI's impact on jobs?
  • A. Extremely pessimistic

  • B. Cautiously optimistic

  • C. Completely indifferent

  • D. Strongly critical

最后一段说"there is reason for optimism",但也有"the key is ensuring that the transition is managed well",表明作者持谨慎乐观态度。选B。

Passage 2:
Globalization and Cultural Diversity
Globalization has become one of the most debated topics of the 21st century. While it has brought unprecedented economic growth and technological advancement, its impact on cultural diversity remains a subject of intense controversy.Supporters of globalization argue that it promotes cultural exchange and understanding. Through the internet, movies, and international travel, people can experience and appreciate cultures from around the world. A student in China can watch Hollywood films, while a teenager in New York can enjoy Korean pop music. This cross-cultural exposure, they argue, enriches rather than diminishes cultural diversity.Critics, however, paint a different picture. They point out that globalization often leads to cultural homogenization. Local traditions, languages, and customs are being replaced by a standardized global culture dominated by Western values. The spread of English as a global language, while facilitating communication, also threatens the survival of many indigenous languages. According to UNESCO, nearly half of the world's 7,000 languages are at risk of extinction. The reality, most scholars agree, lies somewhere in between. Globalization is not inherently good or bad; its effects depend largely on how it is managed. Countries that actively protect their cultural heritage while embracing selective aspects of globalization tend to preserve their cultural identity more successfully. The challenge for the future is finding a balance between the benefits of global connectivity and the preservation of local cultural traditions. This requires thoughtful policies, not just market forces, to ensure that cultural diversity is maintained for future generations.
1 What is the main idea of this passage?
  • A. Globalization only brings economic benefits

  • B. Globalization has both positive and negative effects on cultural diversity

  • C. Globalization should be completely stopped

  • D. Cultural diversity is not affected by globalization

2 According to supporters, how does globalization promote cultural exchange?
  • A. By forcing everyone to learn English

  • B. By eliminating local traditions

  • C. Through internet, movies, and international travel

  • D. By reducing the number of languages

Through the internet, movies, and international travel, people can experience and appreciate cultures"。选C。

3 What does UNESCO say about the world's languages?
  • A. All languages are thriving

  • B. Nearly half are at risk of extinction

  • C. English is replacing all other languages

  • D. The number of languages is increasing

According to UNESCO, nearly half of the world's 7,000 languages are at risk of extinction"。选B。

4 The word "homogenization" in paragraph 3 most likely means:
  • A. Making things different

  • B. Making things the same

  • C. Making things disappear

  • D. Making things expensive

Local traditions...are being replaced by a standardized global culture",即本地传统被标准化全球文化取代,说明homogenization意为"同质化、趋同化"。选B。

5 What can be inferred from the passage?
  • A. Globalization is entirely beneficial

  • B. Cultural diversity can be preserved with thoughtful policies

  • C. All countries should reject globalization

  • D. Market forces alone can protect cultural traditions

This requires thoughtful policies, not just market forces, to ensure that cultural diversity is maintained",可以推断需要有思考性的政策来保护文化多样性。

示例:"Knowledge is power."

The book that was written by a famous author who won the Nobel Prize has sold millions of copies.

It is widely believed that...

The bridge was destroyed by the flood.

  • 名词→动词:The development of technology...

  • 介词→动词:for the purpose of → 为了(介词变动词)

Reading makes a full man.

As a matter of fact, ... → 事实上...(省译"a matter of")

The man who is standing there is my teacher.

He met a scientist who had made great contributions to the field of genetics.

There is someone who wants to see you.

Step 1:找连词(and/but/because/which/that等),确定从句边界

Step 2:

The research, which was conducted by scientists from several universities who collaborated over a period of three years, has produced groundbreaking results.

部分否定:not all = 并非所有;not both = 并非两者都

例:Not all birds can fly.

双重否定:not uncommon = 常见的;no...without... 都...

例:It is not uncommon for students to feel stressed.

You cannot be too careful.

It is said that...

It is reported that...

It is believed that...

It is well known that...

It is important that... → ...

It takes...to do...

Many experts believe that the traditional education system, which focuses primarily on memorization, needs to be reformed to meet the demands of the modern era.

解析:"has made remarkable progress"译为"取得了显著进展";"are being integrated"被动语态保留;"It is generally believed that"译为"人们普遍认为";"in a responsible manner"译为"以负责任的方式"。

Climate change has become one of the most pressing challenges facing humanity today. The rising global temperatures, which are primarily caused by greenhouse gas emissions, have led to more frequent extreme weather events. Scientists warn that if no immediate action is taken, the consequences will be devastating. It is essential that governments, businesses, and individuals work together to reduce carbon emissions and promote sustainable development for the sake of future generations.

解析:"facing humanity"后置定语前置;"which are primarily caused by"定语从句拆为独立句;"if no immediate action is taken"条件句译法;"It is essential that"译为"必须";"for the sake of"译为"为了"。

The Pros and Cons of Online Learning
[第一段·引言]Nowadays, with the rapid development of technology, online learning has become a topic of widespread concern. Some people believe that it is an effective alternative to traditional education, while others worry about its limitations. In my opinion, online learning has both advantages and disadvantages, and the key lies in how we use it.
[第二段·主体]First of all, online learning provides great flexibility and convenience. Students can learn at their own pace and access resources from anywhere in the world. Furthermore, it significantly reduces costs related to transportation and accommodation. A case in point is that during the pandemic, millions of students continued their education through online platforms. However, online learning also has its drawbacks. Last but not least, the lack of face-to-face interaction may affect the quality of communication and social development.
[第三段·结论]In conclusion, online learning is a double-edged sword. Only by combining the advantages of both online and traditional education can we achieve the best results. I am convinced that with proper guidance and self-discipline, online learning will play an increasingly important role in future education.

Last but not least, as consumers, we can influence companies to adopt sustainable practices by choosing eco-friendly products.
