I am Grace. My father took us to Hong Kong Disneyland last summer holiday. It was one of the most interesting
experiences (经历) of my life. Also it was exciting for me to get to Hong Kong by plane. That trip to Hong Kong
Disneyland was really unforgettable (难以忘怀的). The plane ride was about two hours long and I enjoyed every

Hans Christian Andersen was born in 1805 in Denmark. His parents were very poor. His father made shoes.
But he didn’t sell many shoes. So there wasn’t much money.
Andersen wasn’t very happy. And he wasn’t very strong. Other children teased (戏弄) him. So he didn’t like
to play with them. He had few friends. Instead, he had fun by himself. He used his imagination to make up stories.

“Vegetable Basket Line”
In southwest China’s Chongqing, more subway lines are rolling out (延伸) to the rural areas (农村区域)
around the city, particularly (特别是) Line 4. Known as the “Vegetable Basket Line”, Line 4 connects the city’s
northeast Shichuan town to the city center. It has a total length of 32.8 kilometers and 15 stations. Since its opening in
2022, it has offered local farmers near the town more ways to sell their vegetables. The vegetables used to be sold
at low prices in the town. But now they can be sold at higher prices in the city.
Every morning around 6 o’clock, the Shichuan town station is crowded with farmers. They carry baskets (篮

In Chongqing, people over the age of 65 can take the subway for free. The opening of this subway line helps

Collecting things is a popular hobby. It includes coins, books, rocks, paintings and other beautiful things that
bring happiness to their owners. Rocks such as beautiful stones and crystals (水晶) are things that when you see
them you will feel relaxed and calm.

As we all know, English is an important subject in middle school. Everyone knows that they must learn English
well, but some people don’t know how to learn it well. Here are some suggestions which may help you with your

The biggest problem is people’s own fear. They don’t speak English at all because they are afraid of being

People are afraid of difficulties, but sometimes it’s the difficulties and challenges that make us better people.
Cece Bell’s story is a good example. When she was four years old, Cece Bell became deaf and had to wear a hearing
aid. As the only deaf student at her school, Bell wished that there was a list of instructions to help people understand
and communicate with her better.
When she was older, this inspired Bell to write the graphic (图画的) novel EI Deafo, which is partly based on
her life but with talking rabbits instead of humans. In this book, Cece finds that she can use her hearing aid like a
superpower and becomes the hero EI Deafb. The book was a huge success and won lots of awards, and now it has
been turned into a famous TV series.
In an interview with the newspaper, Bell explained why she decided to make all the characters in EI Deafo
rabbits, “I wanted to show what it felt like to be the only deaf kid in my elemental school,” She says. “I needed a
good visual metaphor (比喻), and rabbits, with their big ears and amazing hearing, were perfect for that. Actually, I
felt just like the only rabbit whose big ears didn’t work—I had the ears for show, but little else.” The decision to write
it as a graphic novel was also linked to her experience with deafness. “I wanted to use speech balloons, which are
used in almost all graphic novels, to show what my character is hearing or speaking in the story.”

“On the very first day of 2024, I saw the snows of Kilimannjaro,” said Xu Zhuoyuan
Xu climbed the tallest peak (山峰) in Africa on Jan. 1st. She even stood on top of Mount Qomolangma last
May, making her the youngest Chinese girl to climb the world’s highest peak.
Xu’s mountaineering journey began on a family trip to Xizang and Sichera n four years ago. Passing by Mount
Siguniang in Sichuan, she was fascinated by its beauty and decided to try climbing it. She fell in love with
mountaineering right then and there.
For the next few years, Xu did hard training. She went to the mountains in Yunnan and Sichuan every month,

Zibo city in Shandong province has stormed the Internet since late February for its local barbecue (烧烤). In
March, the small city received about 4. 8 million tourists. It is certainly not the only city that offers barbecue, or
even the most famous one, but its seemingly sudden fame was steps in the making.

Fifteen years ago, Liu Xiuxiang was famous as a university student, because he took his sick mother to his
university. Now he is famous again as “the most beautiful teacher” for his kindness to his students.When Liu was 4, his father died. His mother was so sad that she developed many health problems. When Liu
was 10, his 17-year-old brother and two sisters, 13 and 19, left home to find jobs.
Liu had to take care of his mother and make money while studying. When he was at middle school, Liu made

On February 17th, 2021, Mao Xianglin from Chongqing got the title (称号) of “Touching China 2020 Person
of the Year”. People call him a modern version (版本) of Yu Gong.
In 1959, Mao Xianglin was born in a small village. It’s a village with steep cliffs (陡峭的悬崖) of more than
1,100 meters high. In 1997, he became the head of the village. Then he made a decision to build a road to the
outside world. At that time, many villagers thought he was crazy, because they believed it was impossible. However,
