Vocabulary Learning (8 minutes)  Use PPT to present the key vocabulary that appears in 1a - 2c, such as "similar", "different", "personality", "novel", "difference", "besides", etc. Help students understand the meanings of the vocabulary through pictures, examples, and simple English explanations. For example, explain "similar" with two similar pictures and give the example sentence "My dress is similar to hers."; explain "different" with two pictures with obvious differences and match it with the example sentence "This book is different from that one."  Lead students to read the vocabulary and correct their pronunciations. Then play a vocabulary chain game, where students take turns to say a new word starting with the last letter of a certain vocabulary to strengthen vocabulary memory.  Let students make simple sentences with the newly learned vocabulary. Invite some students to share their sentences, and the teacher gives feedback and guidance in a timely manner, correcting incorrect usages.  Step 3. Listening Practice (10 minutes)  Before playing the listening material in 1b, guide students to observe the pictures and predict the listening content.  Play the listening material for the first time and let students complete the matching task, that is, match the characters with the corresponding descriptions. After playing, check the answers and give a brief explanation.  Play the listening material again. Ask students to listen carefully and take notes of the key information, such as the specific similarities and differences between the characters. After that, let students work in pairs, communicate with each other based on the recorded information, and share what they heard. Theteacher walks around and offers help. Step 4. Reading and Discussion (10 minutes)  Let students read the posts in 1b. Step 5. Oral Expression (7 minutes)  Create situations and present some topics about the similarities and differences between friends, such as "Should friends have the same hobbies?" and "Is it important for friends to have similar personalities?" Let students work in pairs to have a dialogue and discuss.  The teacher walks around each group, encourages students to express their viewpoints using the learned vocabulary and sentence patterns, corrects language errors in a timely manner, and guides students to expand the content of the dialogue. Invite several pairs of students to show their dialogues. Other students listen carefully and evaluate, scoring and commenting from aspects such as language use, viewpoint expression, and communication fluency. The teacher finally summarizes, affirms the students' strengths, points out the existing problems, and gives improvement suggestions.  Recite the key vocabulary and phrases learned in this class.
