Step 1. Lead - in (5 minutes)
The teacher plays a video about delicious foods from around the world,
showing special dishes, desserts, etc. from different countries to arouse
students' interest.
After playing the video, ask students, "What kind of delicious food did you see
in the video? Do you know which countries they come from?" Guide students
to recall the foods in the video and share their thoughts, naturally leading to
the topic of food cultures in different countries in this lesson.
Step 2. Vocabulary Learning (8 minutes)
Use the PPT to show the new vocabulary in 1a, such as "dessert", "sauce",
"ingredient", "recipe", etc. Help students understand the meanings of the
words through pictures, simple English explanations, and example sentences.
For example, show pictures of various desserts to explain "dessert" and give
the example sentence "I like to have a dessert after dinner."
Lead students to read the words and correct their pronunciations. Then play a
word - chain game, where students take turns saying the newly learned words
one by one to strengthen vocabulary memory.
Let students do simple sentence - making exercises with the newly learned

Ask students to read the article in 2a with the questions "Which countries'
special foods are mentioned in the passage? What are they?" This helps to
cultivate students' reading skills and their ability to obtain key information.
After students finish reading, organize group discussions. Let them share their
understandings and feelings about the special foods of different countries in
the article. Each group selects a representative to report the discussion results
to the whole class.
The teacher summarizes and supplements the reports of each group, guiding
students to think deeply about the characteristics and differences of different
food cultures and encouraging students to express their unique opinions.
Step 5. Oral Practice (7 minutes)

Step 6. Writing Practice (5 minutes)
Assign a writing task: Ask students to choose a foreign food they like and write
a short passage to introduce its name, appearance, taste, cooking process, and
related cultural background.
The teacher gives writing tips, such as using the learned vocabulary and
sentence patterns and paying attention to the structure and logic of the article.
Students start writing, and the teacher walks around and provides individual
guidance.
Recite the new vocabulary learned in this lesson. Get the signature of parents to
confirm. There will be a vocabulary quiz the next day.
