Procedure
Warm up: Do ask and answer practice
Review the key sentence patter:
Step 1
--How does he/she learn English?
--He/ She learns English by ... .
Activity 4c: Match the questions and answers.
Step 2 Students read the statements and match by themselves, then I ask some
students to check the answers.
I give students three minutes to read the sentences in Grammar Focus
Step 3
over and over again. They need to pay attention to How and by+doing.
Students say out all the phrases with by in Grammar Focus, then think
of other similar phrases that they have learned in Section A.
Step 4
Next, I lead the whole class to learn something about v+ing. While
learning, students need to take some notes.
Activity 4c: students check what they do to learn English in the table,
then interview their partners. They should do this with the sentence
pattern given.
Step 5
Next, I give students 5 minutes to write a passage to introduce the ways
they learn English and share in front of the whole class.
Before writing, I will give them some tips about this passage.
Do some exercises.
Step 6
Homework for today.
