DWA Youth Talk

当AI可以迅速给出答案,

孩子更需要学会什么?

When AI Can Offer Answers in Seconds,

 What Should Children Learn Most?

当AI可以写文章、解题、生成图像、回答问题,孩子更需要学会的,不只是“知道什么”,而是如何阅读、如何提问、如何判断、如何表达。

鼎文少年说第二季以 Reading, Thinking, and the Future of AI 为主题,邀请G1-G8学生从鼎文共读书目出发,用中英文讲述阅读带来的启发,回应AI时代关于爱、真实、友谊、成长、勇气、合作与判断的追问。

ENG→

When AI can write essays, solve problems, generate images, and answer questions, children need to learn not only what to know, but how to read, how to ask, how to judge, and how to express themselves.

With the theme Reading, Thinking, and the Future of AI, DWA Youth Talk Season 2 invites students from Grades 1 to 8 to draw inspiration from Dingwen’s shared reading programme. Through Chinese and English presentations, they will respond to questions about love, authenticity, friendship, growth, courage, cooperation, and judgement in the age of AI.

5月7日,来听少年的答案

时间:

5月7日(周四)18:30

地点:

杭州鼎文学校红星演艺厅

主题:

Reading, Thinking,

and the Future of AI

关键词:

阅读 · 思考 · 表达 · 思辨 · AI时代

少年发声,不只是为了被听见;更是为了在阅读、思考与表达中,成为更清醒、更优秀、更有判断力的自己。

ENG→

Time

May 7 (Thursday), 18:30

Venue

Red Star Performing Arts Hall,

Dingwen Academy Hangzhou

Theme

Reading, Thinking, and the Future of AI

 Keywords

Reading · Thinking · Expression · Inquiry · The Age of AI

Young voices speak not only to be heard, but to become more thoughtful, more capable, and more discerning through reading, thinking, and expression.

本季亮点

• 阅读周的延续:从读一本书,到想一个问题,再到说给世界听。

• 表达能力的升级:个人中英文演讲,呈现学生的阅读理解与独立思考。

• 思辨能力的升级:新增团体思辨环节,在真实互动中训练倾听、回应、协作与表达。

ENG→

·An extension of Reading Week: from reading a book, to thinking through a question, to sharing one’s voice with the world.

·An upgrade in expression:individual speeches in Chinese and English that present students’ reading comprehension and independent thinking.

·An upgrade in critical thinking: a new group inquiry segment that trains students to listen, respond, collaborate, and speak in authentic interaction.

这不是简单地“讲一篇稿”,而是让孩子在阅读中理解他人,在思考中形成判断,在表达中建立自信。

这也正是鼎文校名所蕴含的“鼎以尚德,文以启智”的具体发生:以阅读滋养价值判断,以思辨训练探究能力,以表达回应AI时代的真实挑战。

ENG→

This is not simply about delivering a prepared speech. It is about helping children understand others through reading, form judgement through thinking, and build confidence through expression.

It is also a living expression of the meaning embedded in Dingwen’s name: Rooted in Virtue, Enlightened by Wisdom. Through reading, students cultivate value judgement; through inquiry, they strengthen their capacity to explore; through expression, they respond to the real challenges of the age of AI.

从书中走来

向未来发问

#01

本季舞台上,14位少年将从14本书中走来。每一本书,打开一个问题;每一个问题,连接一次关于未来的思考。

ENG→

On this season’s stage, 14 young speakers will step forward from 14 books. Each book opens a question; each question leads to a reflection on the future.

[小学组 ]

01

Mia Xu (Grade 1)

“I love you right up to the moon—and back.”

“我爱你,一直远到月亮那里——再从月亮上回到这里来。”

——‌山姆·麦克布雷尼&‌安妮塔·婕朗《猜猜我有多爱你》

(鼎文小学部G1共读书目)

🌟妈妈说的”我爱你”和机器人说的”我爱你”,听起来一样吗?人类的爱究竟可以到达多远的距离?比月亮更远的地方是哪里?

ENG→

01

Mia Xu (Grade 1)

“I love you right up to the moon—and back.”

— Sam McBratney & Anita Jeram, Guess How Much I Love You

(G1 shared reading book)

🌟Mom’s “I love you” versus a robot’s “I love you”—do they sound the same? How far can human love truly reach? Where is the place farther than the moon?

02

Vivi Liang (Grade 2)

“正是你为你的玫瑰花费的时间,才使得你的玫瑰如此重要。”

——安托万·德·圣-埃克苏佩里《小王子》

(鼎文小学部G5共读书目)

🌟AI的迅捷,让答案触手可及,却也让等待与寻觅的意义,在秒针的跳动中悄然流逝。如果AI能给我们所有的答案,我们为什么还要”花时间”动手尝试?

ENG→

02

Vivi Liang (Grade 2)

“It is the time you have wasted for your rose that makes your rose so important.”

— Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, The Little Prince

(G5 shared reading book)

🌟AI’s speed makes answers easily accessible, yet it lets the meaning of waiting and seeking quietly slip away with each tick of the clock. If AI can give us all the answers, why should we still “take time” to try things ourselves?

03

Cindy Chen (Grade 2)

“I am not a puppet any longer. I have become a real boy!”

“我不再是一个木偶了。我变成了一个真正的男孩!”

——卡洛·科洛迪《木偶奇遇记》

ENG→

03

Cindy Chen (Grade 2)

“I am not a puppet any longer. I have become a real boy!”

— Carlo Collodi, Pinocchio

(G2 shared reading book)

🌟Pinocchio became a real boy through effort. In the future, what does “real” mean? If AI can help us do so many things, how do we become our “true selves”?

04

Malou Liu (Grade 2)

“You have been my friend. That in itself is a tremendous thing.”

“你一直是我的朋友。这本身就是一件了不起的事。”

——E.B.怀特《夏洛的网》

“我的狗不是世界上最聪明的狗……但他是条很棒的狗,他是我的朋友。”

——凯特·迪卡米洛《傻狗温迪克》

(鼎文小学部G2共读书目)

🌟Winn-Dixie opens Opal’s heart with a smile. Can AI “smile”? What kind of courage do we need to face AI as a “strange new friend”?

06

Enoch Chen (Grade 4)

“在弗雷迪的周围,叶子有成千上万……很快他就明白,没有两片叶子是一模一样的,哪怕是在同一棵树上。”

——利奥·巴斯卡利亚《一片叶子掉下来》

(鼎文小学部G3共读书目)

🌟在未来的世界,有了AI的帮助,人们会造出两片一模一样的叶子吗?我会遇到另一个一模一样的我吗?还有哪些我们一直认同的真理,会被人工智能所推翻?

ENG→

06

Enoch Chen (Grade 4)

“There were thousands and thousands of leaves around Freddie… Soon he understood that no two leaves were alike, not even on the same tree.”

— Leo Buscaglia, The Fall of Freddie the Leaf

(G3 shared reading book)

In the future, with AI’s help, will people be able to create two identical leaves? Will I meet another “me” who is exactly the same? What truths we have always believed might be overturned by artificial intelligence?

07

Enzo Jiang (Grade 4)

“If you look the right way, you can see that the whole world is a garden.”

“如果你用正确的方式去看,你会发现整个世界都是一座花园。”

——弗朗西丝·霍奇森·伯内特《秘密花园》

08

Yolanda Shi (Grade 5)

“爸爸的花儿落了,我也不再是小孩子。”

“Dad’s flowers have fallen, and I am no longer a child.”

——林海音《城南旧事》

(鼎文小学部G5共读书目)

🌟英子用整个童年学会告别。每一次告别,都是一次长大。但长大,是否意味着必须丢掉孩子的心?当童年远去,我们要把什么留在心里?

ENG→

08

Yolanda Shi (Grade 5)

“Dad’s flowers have fallen, and I am no longer a child.”

— Lin Haiyin, Old Stories from the South of the City

(G5 shared reading book)

🌟Yingzi spent her whole childhood learning to say goodbye. Every goodbye is a step toward growing up. But does growing up mean we have to lose a child’s heart? When childhood fades, what should we keep inside?

  [ 初中组 ]

01

Rhea Zhang (Grade 6)

“The secret of getting ahead is getting started.”

“领先的秘诀就是开始。”

——马克·吐温《汤姆·索亚历险记》

(鼎文初中部G6共读书目)

🌟汤姆不是骗子——他是创造者。他质疑了所有人都接受的规则。当AI总是认同,我们是变得更正确,还是更不会思考?

ENG→

01

Rhea Zhang (Grade 6)

“The secret of getting ahead is getting started.”

— Mark Twain, The Adventures of Tom Sawyer

(G6 shared reading book)

🌟Tom is not a liar — he is a creator. He questioned the rules that everyone accepted. When AI always agrees, are we becoming more correct, or less able to think for ourselves?

02

Sandy Liu (Grade 6)

“Philosophy is not about finding answers, but learning to ask questions.”

“哲学不是寻找答案,而是学会提问。”

——乔斯坦·贾德《苏菲的世界》

ENG→

02

Sandy Liu (Grade 6)

“Philosophy is not about finding answers, but learning to ask questions.”

— Jostein Gaarder, Sophie’s World

(G6 shared reading book)

🌟AI can analyze information, but asking philosophical questions and reflecting on life remains a human ability. Why is asking questions more important than finding answers? How can humans maintain independent thinking in the AI era?

03

Natalie Zheng (Grade 7)

“Some of us get dipped in flat, some in satin, some in gloss. But every once in a while you find someone who’s iridescent, and when you do, nothing will ever compare.”

——文德琳·范·德拉安南《怦然心动》

(鼎文初中部G7共读书目)

🌟朱莉看得更深,发现了魔法。AI可以描述颜色,却无法感受看见彩虹时的心跳。当AI可以模拟一切美好,真实的”怦然心动”还重要吗?

ENG→

03

Natalie Zheng (Grade 7)

“Some of us get dipped in flat, some in satin, some in gloss. But every once in a while you find someone who’s iridescent, and when you do, nothing will ever compare.”

— Wendelin Van Draanen, Flipped

(G7 shared reading book)

🌟Juli looks deeper and discovers magic. AI can describe colors, but it cannot feel the heartbeat when you see a rainbow. When AI can simulate every beautiful thing, does the real “flipped” feeling still matter?

04

Kiki Chen (Grade 8)

“But man is not made for defeat. A man can be destroyed but not defeated.”

“不过人不是为失败而生的。一个人可以被毁灭,但不能被打败。”

——海明威《老人与海》

🌟八十四天没有捕到鱼,圣地亚哥只带回骨架。他被打败了吗?没有。因为当结果失去时,尊严仍在。

ENG→

04

Kiki Chen (Grade 8)

“But man is not made for defeat. A man can be destroyed but not defeated.”

— Ernest Hemingway, The Old Man and the Sea

🌟Eighty-four days without catching a fish, Santiago returns only with a skeleton. Has he been defeated? No. Because when the result is lost, dignity remains.

05

Alan Pang (Grade 8)

“It takes a great deal of bravery to stand up to our enemies, but a great deal more to stand up to our friends.”

— J.K. Rowling, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone

🌟Harry Potter lived in a cupboard. He had reasons to be mean, yet he chose kindness. So, when power is within easy reach, what makes us choose kindness?

06

Hellen Zhou (Grade 8)

“The Nile: the longest river in the world, the mother of all life in Sudan.”

“尼罗河:世界上最长的河流,苏丹所有生命的母亲。”

——‌琳达·休·帕克《漫漫求水路》

🌟Salva穿越战争、沙漠和鳄鱼河,没有为敌人部落的孩子带来武器,而是带来了一口井。当分歧如此深重,是什么让人选择合作?

ENG→

06

Hellen Zhou (Grade 8)

“The Nile: the longest river in the world, the mother of all life in Sudan.”

— Linda Sue Park, A Long Walk to Water

🌟Salva crosses war, desert, and crocodile‑infested rivers. He does not bring weapons to the children of the enemy tribe — he brings a well. When differences run so deep, what makes people choose cooperation?

阅读之后,问题开始生长

#02

从低年级孩子对“爱”与“真实”的朴素追问,到高年级学生对“提问”“善良”“合作”与“尊严”的深入思考,鼎文少年说第二季呈现的,不只是一次舞台表达,更是一条清晰的成长路径。

当AI越来越擅长给出答案,教育更要帮助孩子提出问题、辨别价值、理解人性,并勇敢说出自己的声音

ENG→

From younger students’ sincere questions about love and authenticity to older students’ deeper reflections on questioning, kindness, cooperation, and dignity, DWA Youth Talk Season 2 presents far more than a stage performance. It reveals a clear pathway of growth.

As AI becomes increasingly skilled at providing answers, education must help children raise questions, discern values, understand humanity, and speak with courage in their own voice.
