答案:
①whose ②artistic ③named ④recognition ⑤a ⑥showing ⑦Finally ⑧was influenced ⑨tourists ⑩to
a collection of... 故填a。
100 bronze
根据短语bring...to life可知应填介词to。
A
Art museums are places where people can learn about various cultures. The increasingly popular
“design museums” that are opening today, however, perform quite a different role. Unlike most art
museums, the design museums show objects that are easily found by the general public. These museums
sometimes even place things like fridges and washing machines in the centre of the hall.
People have argued that design museums are often made use of as advertisements for new industrial
technology. But their role is not simply a matter of sales—it is the honour of excellently invented products.
The difference between the window of a department store and the showcase in a design museum is that the
first tries to sell you something, while the second tells you the success of a sale.
One advantage of design museums is that they are places where people feel familiar with the exhibits.
Unlike the average art museum visitors, design museum visitors seldom feel frightened or puzzled. This is
partly because design museums clearly show how and why mass-produced products work and look as they
do, and how design has improved the quality of our lives. Art museum exhibits, on the other hand, would
most probably fill visitors with a feeling that there is something beyond their understanding.
In recent years, several new design museums have opened their doors. Each of these museums has
tried to satisfy the public’s growing interest in the field with new ideas. London’s Design Museum, for
example, shows a collection of mass-produced objects from lighters to electric typewriters to a group of
Italian fish-tins. The choices open to design museums seem far less strict than those to art museums, and
visitors may also sense the humorous part of our society while walking around such exhibits as interesting
and unusually attractive toys collected in our everyday life.
1.Why are showcases in design museums different from store windows?
A.They show more technologically advanced products.
B.They help increase the sales of products.
C.They show why the products have sold well.
D.They attract more people than store windows do.
2.The choices open to design museums .
A.are not as strict as those to art museums
B.are not aimed to interest the public
C.may fail to bring some pleasure to visitors
D.often contain precious exhibits
3.What is the best title for this passage?
A.The Forms of Design Museums
B.The Exhibits of Design Museums
C.The Nature of Design Museums
D.The Choices Open to Design Museums

III.七选五
Do you ever draw? Most of us don’t.The reason why we usually leave drawing to the artists is that
we’re not very good at it.Who wants to do anything they’re bad at? 1 Studies have found drawing has
many benefits, artist or not. Here are just a few reasons for picking up a pen or pencil of any kind.
It pushes you to be patient. We’re used to things happening fast these days.Drawing is not fast. 2
That’s OK , and as something comes together over time , you’ll be reminded of the value of
patience.Drawing is an object lesson that not everything good comes quickly, which is an easy thing to
forget.
3 A few of my drawings are really kind of great.I can look at them with pride. But plenty of my
little drawings are nonsense or unfinished. It doesn’t matter.I still have the experience of drawing and the
benefits that brings.Even if you’re not naturally “good” at drawing, you’ll get better over time if you
practice. 4 Your drawing doesn’t have to mean anything or do anything useful.Sometimes you will
even fail.No big deal.
It makes memories stick.I draw in order to capture moments from my life.I’m not great at drawing,
but that’s not the point.Sometimes I draw the view from the window of my hotel room—whether it’s a great
view or not.Remember, the idea is to capture the moment, not create a masterpiece.Other times I draw
from my dinner table. 5
A.Take the pressure off.
B.It’s a good reminder that failure is OK.
C.It is something that can show your talents.
D.It takes time to create something interesting.
E.If you draw fast, you might ruin your drawing.
F.But maybe we should rethink this assumption.
G.These drawings can always bring me back to that moment.
The reason why we usually leave drawing to the artists is that we’re not very good at
it.Who wants to do anything they’re bad at?”可知,F选项中的“we”和文中的“we”相呼应,“this
2.答案 D
解析 结合前文的“Drawing is not fast.”可知画画是个慢活,再结合下文的“you’ll be reminded of
4.答案 A
Your drawing doesn’t have to mean anything or do anything useful.Sometimes you
will even fail.”
5.答案 G
解析 根据前文的“Remember, the idea is to capture the moment, not create a masterpiece.”
