When 2020 began，the thought of going through a pandemic(疫情) was the last thing on my
mind.Like most of you，I was busy 1 for cheer competitions，studying for classes and so
on.Then，the 2 fell apart before my eyes.I quickly learned that my “normal” could be 3
in a second.Those first few 4 days revealed just how hard it was for me and other
teenagers.But it was even harder on the 5 who lived in an assisted living home and couldn’t

I called a few of my cheer friends and began to make plans to 7 the day of the elderly
there.We may not have been able to go inside ，but we could 8 visit through the
windows.When we 9 we found out that the residents had been 10 all day when “the
cheerleaders” were coming.They were so excited! We 11 their windows with flowers，
pictures of sunshine，and happy 12 .It was the most special feeling to remind them that the

smiles on their faces，but we had the biggest smiles on ours，which they could not see through

I have a vivid memory from when I was two years old.My uncle was holding me up in the air
so I could 1 my mom’s washing machine，and I was 2 by the clothes swimming in
circles in the water.
