What do you usually use memes(梗)for? Two young women have turned fun memes into dance moves.
They’ve gained about 800, 000 fans with their amazing and funny performances.
Asuan, 26, and Lidawang, 29, are two graduate students of Beijing Dance Academy. They wanted to makesomething different from the beautiful stage performances that they learned in school.
“We came to find our own styles — funny moves, simple stories and ear-catching music. Whether the idea
comes from memes, cartoons, or games, we take these parts of young people’s pop culture and remade them,” said
Lidawang.
However, being funny doesn’t mean they don’t put their heart into the dance moves. Memes are popular
because of their special performances, and making that funny performance with dance can be very challenging. It
usually takes them one to six months to make a two-minute dance video. To improve their moves they would
record their practice and then look at their moves over and over.
Asuan even made a teaching video for one of their most popular dances — “the Yellow Alien(外星人)”,
based on the meme from the Spanish song Dame Tu Cosita. She worked out how to act like aliens — the relaxed
shoulder, the deep squat(深蹲)move and the surprised but naive(天真的)eyes. As many fans send them
“homework” videos, their meme dances are becoming new memes themselves too.
“The nature of dance is to express and communicate. What we communicate and pass on to others is
happiness and amusement,” said Lidawang.
“We’re happy to call ourselves ‘comedians’ in the world of dance,” added Asuan.
51.What do we know about Asuan and Lidawang’s dance style?
A.It is both traditional and funny.
B.It uses the pop culture of young people.
C.It was based on what they have learned at school.
D.It is popular among the students at Beijing Dance Academy.
52.Why are their dances challenging?
A.Because the two girls are too busy to practice.
B.Because it is hard to find enough popular memes.
C.Because making a dance video needs one to six months.
D.Because it is difficult to make that funny performance with dance.
53.What can we learn from the passage?
A.Lidawang even made a teaching video
B.Lidawang worked out how to act like aliens
C.Asuan believes they pass on happiness to others.
D.Lots of fans copy the performance and make their own videos.
54.The underlined word “comedians” in the last paragraph means __________.

五、阅读短文回答问题(共5小题;每小题2分,满分10分)
Do you ever find yourself standing in front of rubbish bins, not sure whether the piece of waste in your hand
is recyclable or not? To solve this problem, four Hong Kong high school students have invented a smart rubbish
bin that uses AI to divide the waste. The students called the bin Waste Collection Point.
The bin uses a camera to know the kind of the waste and divides it into plastic, paper, glass or other kinds. To
make sure the bin can divide waste correctly, the team tested every product in the school shop and took over 500
pictures of each one. “To train the AI, we had to take many photos from different angles (角度), so it has a better
rate of accuracy (精确度),” said one of the students.
The students had the idea of the smart bin two years ago because they saw a lot of rubbish here and there in
their village. Every weekend, they had to join the villagers in picking up the waste.
The students decided to invent a special recycling bin that would encourage people to protect the
environment. Although the school ended at 2 p.m., the team members would continue to work on their invention
until 6 or 7 p.m. at school.
“Our bin is now in its third generation (代). Before graduation, we hope that it can be widely used in the
city.” The students said, “Then it will be easier than ever for people to recycle waste and protect our
environment.”
