People think it's amazing that I have time to be an actor as well as a student, but actually, it's
not that difficult. Many adults say young people should just do their school work and pass their
exams, but I think it's important to get some work experience too. I mean, I'll have to get a job
when I leave school, so why not earn some money before then?
I act in Indian movies known as “Bollywood" movies. They're all made in England, but
everyone in the movies is Indian. I was only eight when I got my first small part in a Bollywood
film, and I only had to say a few words. Since then, I've had bigger parts, and now I spend weeks
and weeks trying to remember all my lines.
My parents are awesome! They drive me to my classmates' houses, as well as the studios, and
pick me up when I finish filming. They think I'm good at acting and hope I'll be famous one day.
But in case that doesn’t happen, they don't want me to stop studying until I'm 18.
My next movie is called Mumbai Moon. In this film, I'll be a teenage girl who wins a dance
competition and the prize is a holiday. She doesn't want anyone to know about the competition, so
she can't practice at home. She dances in the sports hall after school with her partner. I hope
everyone will love watching it!

D. Listen to the dialogue and complete the following sentences (听对话,完成下列内容。每空
格限填一词) (10 分)
Lenora: So, Eric, how is life in Greenland these days?
Eric: Oh, you know. Winters are long. I live on the coast, though, so I go to see the ocean every
day. That's always nice.
Lenora: I heard that winters in Greenland are shorter than they used to be — global warming, I
guess?
Eric: Yes, that's true. They're calling it “the greening of Greenland.”
Lenora: The “greening"? What does that mean?
Eric: Well, the average temperature in Greenland is rising twice as fast as in other places. So, now
I have a few trees near my house. Trees didn't use to exist in Greenland, you know!
Lenora: So that's good, right?
Eric: Yes, in some ways. People are growing vegetables now — cabbage, potatoes and things like
that. And farmers can grow more grass for their animals.
Lenora: Well, Greenland usually has to buy food from other countries, right? Now you can grow
your own food instead.
Eric: Yeah, that's true. But the ice is melting, and as it does, it leaves behind more land. As more
land opens up, even more ice melts. If all of Greenland's ice melts, sea levels will rise 24 feet!
Lenora: Twenty-four feet? We'll all be underwater!
Eric: A lot of us, anyway. Greenland's cities are all near the coast. People don't want sea levels to
rise and flood cities.
Lenora: You're right. There are a lot of things to worry about.教育资源分享店铺 网址:https://shop175591889.taobao.com 微信号:kingcsa333
