The Current Situation of Sports Engineering
Sports engineering is an interdisciplinary subject combining sports science, mechanical engineering and material‑science, which has gained rapid development in recent years.
From my perspective, this discipline serves athletes and mass fitness at the same time. In competitive sports, sports‑engineering technologies are widely applied. Advanced motion‑capture equipment collects athletes’ movement data. Researchers analyze these data from the perspective of biomechanics, so as to optimize technical movements, reduce sports‑injury risks and improve competitive performance. In public‑fitness field, smart wearable devices, intelligent sports venues and customized fitness‑equipment also benefit ordinary exercisers.
Nevertheless, some challenges still exist. Domestic sports‑engineering research is sometimes disconnected from real‑world training practice. Some high‑end testing instruments rely heavily on imports. Besides, talents mastering both sports science and engineering knowledge are relatively scarce.
Looking ahead, sports engineering has broad prospects. More cooperation between laboratories and sports‑training teams should be promoted. We need to develop independent‑innovative testing‑devices and cultivate compound‑talents, making sports‑engineering better support competitive sports and national‑fitness‑program.

体育工程学是融合体育科学、机械工程、材料科学的交叉学科,近些年得到快速发展。
在我看来,该学科同时服务于竞技运动员与大众健身。竞技体育领域,体育工程技术得到广泛运用。运动捕捉设备采集运动员动作数据,科研人员从生物力学角度解析数据,优化技术动作、降低损伤风险、提升运动表现。大众健身方面,智能可穿戴装备、智慧场馆、个性化健身器材,也给普通锻炼人群带来便利。
但是目前依然存在不少困境:国内部分体育工程研究和一线训练实践脱节;高端测试仪器较多依赖进口;既懂体育又懂工程的复合型人才缺口较大。
展望未来,体育工程发展前景广阔。应当推进实验室与运动队深度合作,研发自主创新检测设备,培养复合型人才,让体育工程更好助力竞技体育与全民健身事业。
