2024·济南高三模拟 应用文 291词 ★★★☆☆
Get ready to start your journey to the best public university system in the world—with just
one application.
Apply for more than one UC campus
This will significantly increase your chances of being admitted to the UC system. While you
may not receive an offer of admission from your firstchoice campus, all of our campuses—without
exception—provide outstanding opportunities for you to learn and grow.
Apply on time
You can fill out the application in as many sessions as you want. Just remember to submit
it by November 30 for the fall term.
Create an account
An email address and an email password are required in order to create an account. You
should use the email account you use for all applications, so just make it easier to remember. We
also recommend you use a nonschool issued email account e. g. Gmail, Yahoo! Mail. Campuses
send important and timesensitive correspondence to applicants, so you should check your email
regularly to follow up on your application.
Save information
You should click “Save & Continue” at the bottom of each page to save any entered
information—there is 20minute inactivity period after which the application will automatically
sign you out. If you've successfully answered all required questions, the page will be marked
with a checkmark on the righthand side.
Confirmation
Once you've submitted your application, you'll see confirmation page with important
reminders and your UC application ID number which is used to access the various campus
websites and, in many cases, to access your admission decisions.
1.What should students do to increase admission chances?

所大学可以增加被录取的几率,故B项正确。2.How can students learn about the latest application process?
A.By checking the email.
B.By visiting the campus.
C.By making phone calls.
D.By creating a new account.
答案与解析:A 理解具体信息。根据Create an account部分中的“Campuses send
important and timesensitive correspondence to applicants, so you should check your email
regularly to follow up on your application”可知,学生们应该经常查看邮件来了解申请的最
新动态,故A项正确。
3.What will students get after completing the application?
A.A checkmark.
B.A confirmation call.
C.A “Continue” button.

2023·新课标Ⅰ卷 说明文 350词 ★★★☆☆
The goal of this book is to make the case for digital minimalism, including a detailed
exploration of what it asks and why it works, and then to teach you how to adopt this philosophy if
you decide it's right for you.
To do so, I divided the book into two parts. In part one, I describe the philosophical
foundations of digital minimalism, starting with an examination of the forces that are making so
many people's digital lives increasingly intolerable, before moving on to a detailed discussion of
the digital minimalism philosophy.
Part one concludes by introducing my suggested method for adopting this philosophy: the
digital declutter. This process requires you to step away from optional online activities for thirty
days. At the end of the thirty days, you will then add back a small number of carefully chosen
online activities that you believe will provide massive benefits to the things you value.
In the final chapter of part one, I'll guide you through carrying out your own digital declutter.
In doing so, I'll draw on an experiment I ran in 2018 in which over 1,600 people agreed to
perform a digital declutter. You'll hear these participants' stories and learn what strategies worked
well for them, and what traps they encountered that you should avoid.
The second part of this book takes a closer look at some ideas that will help you cultivate (培
养) a sustainable digital minimalism lifestyle. In these chapters, I examine issues such as the
importance of solitude (独处) and the necessity of cultivating highquality leisure to replace the
time most now spent on mindless device use. Each chapter concludes with a collection of
practices, which are designed to help you act on the big ideas of the chapter. You can view these
practices as a toolbox meant to aid your efforts to build a minimalist lifestyle that works for your
particular circumstances.

Ⅱ.读后续写
阅读下面材料,根据其内容和所给段落开头语续写两段,使之构成一篇完整的短文。
Ariana tried to hold her breath. She moved away slightly, but Ashley only moved closer and
continued talking.
Ariana thought to herself, “Why does she always have to sit next to me?”
Ashley didn't seem to notice that Ariana was trying to move away, and she leaned in closer. Arianawanted badly to tell Ashley that she didn't smell very good, but how could she do that without
hurting her feelings?
When Ariana got home from school, she complained to her mother. “There's a girl named
Ashley who likes to sit next to me in school, but she smells bad. Nobody else likes to sit next to
her, either.”
“Well, try to be nice to her,” said her mother. “Maybe she's having a hard time at
home. You never knew what a person's home life is like.”
For the rest of the week, Ariana tried to be a good friend to Ashley. There were times
when they had fun talking and playing together, especially on the days when Ashley bathed. But
on the days when she smelled bad, Ariana still found it very hard to be her friend.
One morning, while getting her hair combed for school, Ariana brought the subject up
again with her mother.
“I don't want to be friends with Ashley anymore,” she told her.
Her mother's hands froze in midair. Ariana turned to see what the matter was. Her mother
looked upset. Ariana wondered what she had said to make her mother react this way.
“I don't think you understand Ashley's situation, so let me ask you this...” Her mother's
tone was serious. “Who makes sure that your hair is combed every morning so you'll look nice
when you go to school? Who makes sure you're bathed and cleaned every day? And who makes
sure your clothes are washed and neatly ironed?”
“You and Daddy,” answered Ariana.
“Do you live in a happy family? Do you have a good dad and mom?”
注意:1.续写词数应为150左右;
2.请按如下格式作答。

One possible version:
Ariana nodded, beginning to feel guilty. She was starting to think, “What is Ashley's family
like? Why don't her parents take better care of her? It's unfair for Ashley to be treated like this.”
Ariana's mother seemed to understand what she was thinking. “Not all children live in a happy
family,” her mother said in a gentle voice. “The best thing you can do for Ashley is to treat her
with kindness.”
Sadness for Ashley filled her heart and Ariana decided to make friends with Ashley.
At school, Ariana let Ashley sit next to her and helped her with her schoolwork. Whatever she did,
she was always careful not to hurt Ashley's feelings. As the months passed, Ariana discovered thatshe enjoyed talking and hanging out with Ashley. She no longer saw her as the girl who smelled
bad, but as a friend with a kind and warm heart. Not only did they establish deep and lasting
friendship, but they also made great progress in their studies.
