【语言点】
So, when the rainstorm suddenly came, what were you doing?那么，
当暴风雨突然到来时，你正在做什么？
用法：本剧是有when引导的时间状语从句，主句是过去进行时的特殊
疑问句。
过去进行时
过去进行时表示过去某一时刻或者某段时间正在进行或发生的动
作，常和表过去的时间状语连用。
过去进行时的构成:
肯定形式:主语+was/were+v.-ing
否定形式:主语+was not (wasn’t)/were not (weren’t)+v.-ing
疑问形式:was/were+主语+v. -ing
What/Where/ Why/ How等疑问词+was/ were+主语+v. –ing(其他)?
常与之连用的时间状语有， at that time/moment,(at)this time
yesterday(last night/Sunday/week...) ， at+ 点 钟 +yesterday ( last
night/Sunday...) ， when sb. did sth .等 时间状语从句 ，如:
What ________- you _______ at 7 p. m. yesterday?
昨天晚上七点你在干什么?
I first met Mary three years ago. She ______ _______(work) at a radio
shop at the time.
我第一次遇到玛丽是在三年前，当时她在一家无线电商店工作。

三、知识点提示：
1.Ben’s dad was putting pieces of wood over the windows while his mon
was making sure the flashlights and radio were working.当本的妈妈正在
确认手电和收音机正在工作时，他爸爸正在把几块木头放在窗户上。
用法：本句是有while引导的时间状语从句，表示某个动作正在进行
时，另一个动作发生了或正在进行。
when后通常用短暂性动词，while后通常用持续性动词，因此它所引
导的状语从句中，谓语动词常用进行时态，如:
When the car exploded, I ______ _______ (walk)past it.=While I was
walking past the car, it exploded.
While she was reading a newspaper, I_____ _______(write)a
letter to my pen pal.当她在看报时，我正在给笔友写信。
when用作并列连词时，主句常用进行时态，从句则用一般过去时，
表示主句动作发生的过程中，另一个意想不到的动作发生了。如:
I ______ _______ (walk) in the street when someone called me.我正
在街上走时突然有人喊我。
2.过去进行时和一般过去时的差别:
一般过去时表示“在过去某个付间发生的动作或存在的状态”，
而过去进行时则表示“在过去某个特定时间正在进行的动作”。
例如:I was reading an English novel last night. 昨晚我在看一本英文
小说。(可能没看完)
I read an English novel last night.我昨晚看了一本英文小说。(已
经看完)
