2) I guess you could tell her to say sorry. guess v. 猜测;估计 guess +n./句子
I guess so./ I guess not. ( I think so.)
e.g. Let us guess the height of the building. 让我们来猜一下这个建筑物的高度。
e.g. I guess Cathy could win the first prize in the singing competition.

3) Although she's wrong, it’s not a big deal.
big deal是英语中的固定搭配,表示 “重要的事情或状况”,多用于非正式交流。否定用法时
常说It’s not a big deal或It’s no big deal.表示说话人并不认为某事有什么了不起。
e.g. There's a soccer game on TV this evening but I don’t have to watch it. It’s
no big deal. 今天晚上电视上有一场足球赛,但我不一定要看。没什么大不了的。
4) Hope things work out. 希望事情会好起来。这是一种常见的表达法,表示某些不如人意的
事情会随时间的推移逐渐有所改观。work out 成功地发展;解决,算出
Mike worked out the math problem by himself. 迈克自己算出了那道数学难题。
Is it possible to work out the problem? 有可能解决这个问题吗?

Step 2:New words
1.relation n.关系;联系Their relation seemed quite close.他们的关系看起来很亲密。2. argue v. 争吵;争论The couple began to argue about the child’s education.
那对夫妇开始就孩子的教育问题争吵。
3. proper adj. 正确的;恰当的 It’s not proper to visit a friend too late in the
evening.
太晚了,去看朋友不合适。
4. nervous adj. 焦虑的;担忧的
e.g. Don’t be nervous. It is just a small test. 不要紧张。就是个小测试而已。
5.clear adj. 清楚易懂的;晴朗的The sun shone out of a clear sky.天空晴朗,阳光灿烂。
Step3:Language points
1.instead或instead of
1)instead意为“代替”“替代”,作副词用,通常位于句尾。如位于句首时常用逗号与后面阁
开。instead 在顺接句子中作“代替”讲,而在转折(或逆转)句子中作“然而”讲。时,只能位
于句末。 Eg: She didn't answer me; instead, she asked me another question. 她没有
回答我,反而问了我另外一个问题。
2)instead of是介宾短语,其意与instead相同,不同之处在于它后面常接宾语,起宾语多由名
词、代词、介词、短语、动词 + ing 形式充当。 Eg:We'll ask Li Mei instead of
Mary. 我们将去问李梅而不问玛丽。 I’ll go instead of her. 我会替她去。
3)instead 与instead of的转换。
1.He didn't answer me, instead, he asked me another question
→ He asked me another question instead of answering me.
2. I’ll of instead of her.→She won't go. I’ll go inst
Eg: Lily isn't here. Ask Lucy instead. Lily不在这儿,去问Lucy吧.

Step3: 重点语法学习:
Until, so that ,although 引导的状语从句:
1.Until:在till或until引导的时间状语从句从句里,如果主句用肯定式,含义是“一直
到……时”,谓语动词只能用延续性动词。如果主句用否定式,其含义是“直到……才……”,
“在……以前不……”, 谓语动词可用瞬间动词。Eg:The young man read till the light
went out.
Let’s wait until the rain stops. Don’t get off until the bus stops.
2.so that:引导目的状语从句 so that(为了,以便)
Eg: We started early so that we could catch the first train.
He studies hard so that he could work better in the future
3.Although:although的用法意思相当于though(尽管,虽然),用来引导让步状语从句。它所引
导的从句不能与并列连词but,and, so等连用,但可以和yet, still等词连用。
Eg:Although the book was old, we decided to buy it.尽管这本书很旧,我们还是决定买。
Although he was tired, he went on working. 虽然他很累,但是他继续工作。
