Almost all parents encourage their kids to take part in various competitions
organized in schools and other places. This gives them chances to prove that they
are excellent. The following are some interesting competitions for kids.
Writing competitions for kids can help them improve their writing skills. In these
contests, kids are given a topic to write an article. They are given instructions about the
length of the article and they should finish it within the given time. The kids who write
the best articles are given some prizes to encourage them.
Art and craft competition can really be very enjoyable for them! You can give the
kids choices such as participating in painting, making greeting cards or paper crafts
and choose the best performer from each event organized. The final works of the kids
can be displayed at the end of the competitions.
Singing competitions for kids can be the best ones for them to show their talents
and win praise from people. You can organize a musical show in which kids will sing
the songs they like best and their performance should be judged by famous singers.
You can award prizes for top performers of the competition.
Sports competitions for kids can test their skills in both indoor sports and outdoor

You can have a strong will and really want to achieve your goal(目标), but life
has its way of knocking us off course. Things come up, and distractions(分散注意力)
happen.
Success needs attention. You've had the experience of setting a goal and being
really excited about achieving it only to have a few weeks or months to go by and realize
the goal has dropped down on your list from the first place.
It is easy for people to get side-tracked. This doesn't just happen all at once. You
get off track just little by little until one day, you realize you're completely off track.
Keeping your mind on your goal can be a long-lasting fight because everything around
you is trying to get your attention.
So what can you do to keep your attention? There are several things you can try.
You can write down your goal and read it every day. You can form a picture of achieving
your goal daily in your mind.
One of my favorite methods of keeping my attention on a goal is to keep asking
myself, "Is what I'm doing right now bringing me closer to my goal or further away?"
Once you answer that question, you'll know what to do. You can make sure that your
6
daily to-do list includes doing something that will take you closer to your goal.
If you look back at the goals you've tried to achieve and realize you haven't
achieved any of your major goals, it may be time to just pay attention to a single
goal. This way, all of your energy can be put towards realizing that one goal which
will increase your chances of getting it. It's a lot better to just achieve one goal than to
work on a dozen and achieve none of them.
Remember that you're human and because of this, you'll make some mistakes.
Instead of beating yourself up, just know that certain things can take your attention
away from your goals. Once you know these things, you can actively make the amount
of time less when they take your attention off your goals.
Distractions are like gravity. They cause us all to fall at times. The important thing
is that we go up again every time we fall. Get your attention back on your goal when
you start to realize it's going somewhere else.
