How do you go to school every day? By bike or on foot? Maybe you can try a new way—enjoying on an S’Cool
Bus. It is also called the bike bus. It was invented (发明) in the bike kingdom—the Netherlands (荷兰) a few years
ago. It is all about green lifestyle, sport and sharing. Thomas Tolkamp, is the maker of this kind of bicycle. It is
interesting for kids to ride the bike bus together to go to school.
Also, it is very safe. The bike bus has a driver, and eleven seats for kids.
Each seat has a helmet and safety belt (头盔和安全带). There is also a roof on the bus. It can be used on hot
days or rainy days to make kids feel more comfortable.
Riding the bike bus is one of the greatest ways for children to get to school. Peter, a 10-year-old boy, becomes
a big fan of it. “Now the S’Cool Bus is my favorite way of transport. I can ride it together with other kids to keep
healthy. We love the bike bus. How interesting it is!” For most parents, they don’t have to pick up their kids after
school, because riding the bike bus can be a safe way and can help them save a lot of time from picking-up.
Now the S’Cool Bus becomes more and more popular in some countries like Germany and France. Its inventor
Thomas Tolkamp says, “I hope I can sell the bike bus to more countries in the future. As green lifestyle becomes
popular, ideas like this get popular, too. I think it will work well in other countries.”

Tim and Kerry Meek are both teachers. They live in the UK with their two daughters: eleven-year-old Amy and nine
year-old Ella. Recently, the Meek family have become the focus of the whole country after they completed 100
different outdoor activities in one year.
About one year ago, the Meeks decided that watching TV and playing computer games were not good for their
children. The Meeks didn’t want their children to spend all their free time in front of the TV and become “couch
potatoes”. They wanted their children to live an active life. So, they set 100 tasks for the two girls to do outside.
Although Mr. and Mrs. Meek are not outdoor activity fans, they took part in all the activities to encourage their
