b.新闻报道类阅读的注意事项:(1)品味新闻的标题,联系平时所积累的知识,为了解材料大意作铺垫;
(2)了解新闻报道的特殊规律,其内容多含何人、何地、何事、何时等,阅读时要抓住新闻的这一主要

take off and land without a runway.

the women’s 1,500 m short track speed skating (短道速滑) event of the Winter Youth Olympic Games on Jan 20th,
2024.
They used the classic “rabbit strategy (策略)”. It usually needs teamwork of two skaters. One skater sprints
(冲刺) from the start, while the other keeps following.
This is different from the usual 1,500 m speed skating strategy of keeping an average (平均) pace and then
picking up speed in the last few laps (圈). Using the “rabbit strategy”, after the first turn, Yang suddenly skated at
full speed. She then was quickly one lap ahead of the other skaters and then stayed at the back of them.
Working with Yang, Li changed between the front and the back in the first half of the race. This made the
other skaters wonder who on earth was the “leading rabbit”. When the referee (裁判) announced there was only one
lap to go, everyone except Yang had two laps left.
The 1,500 m presents a great challenge of endurance (耐力) for sportsperson as it is. Using the rabbit
strategy makes it even harder. Coach Liu Xiaoliang explained that choosing Yang as the “rabbit” was because of her
excellent endurance and rapid starts.
“To be honest, I wanted to win the gold so much and did whatever I could to prepare for it. I am very happy
to finally get it,” Yang said after the race.
