A young woman turns around and around quickly, and jumps high. In the background, a young girl
reads a rejection letter from a ballet school. “You have the wrong body for ballet,” it says, “and at
thirteen, you are too old.” This was one of the most popular advertisements of 2014 and it describes
American Ballet Theatre’s principal (主要的) dancer Misty Copeland.

many dancers start at the age of three, Copeland only began to study ballet in 1995 as a thirteen-year-

It is good to know that your parents will provide you a shoulder to cry on when you meet
setbacks (挫折). Would it still be welcome if your mother gave up her job in order to be closer to you

Many parents in China have chosen to do so. They stay home to cook healthy food and help
children with their homework, reported 21st Century Business Herald and some even rent a small room
near their children’s school to save their time. Such parents have got the nickname of “helicopter

“Why do I live? Why do I wish for anything, or do anything? Is there anything in my life that
will not be destroyed by my death?” Like Leo Tolstoy (列夫·托尔斯泰), the famous Russian writer,
many people ask these difficult questions. Tolstoy spent his whole life trying to answer these difficult
