W: The weatherman says it’s going to rain. M: In that case, we’ll go to the cinema instead. W: Excuse me, could you mind my bags for a moment? I want to buy some food at the convenience store. M: No problem. But be quick. It was announced that my train would arrive in 10 minutes. M: We have to find a parking space. Let’s drive around the block one more time. Did you say the restaurant has no off-street parking at all? W: None. I checked it. Look, there is a space! M: Laura, what’s in the mailbox? W: It’s a thank-you note from our neighbour. They thank us for visiting them last week when the baby was born. They also invite us to have dinner next Friday. M: Are they back home now? W: Should be. 6.A 【来源】2022年新高考全国Ⅰ卷英语真题 【原文】 M: Excuse me, where is the hotel gym, please?W: It’s on the top floor. You can take the lift over there. M: Do I have to pay extra? W: No, sir, you just need to take your room key with you. M: Jenny, you can just drop me here. W: But we’re two streets away from the office. M: It’s fine. I had a big breakfast and feel like a bit of walk. M: Excuse me, I got lost. I took a bus to city hall, but I can’t find the place. W: This is the concert hall, not city hall. To go there, you should take the bus at Grand Hotel over there. W: Do you think you can take care of everything in the office today? M: No problem. Just go home and take a rest. If there is anything I feel I cannot handle, I’ll call you. M: Ruth, I’ve got this terrible cold and I have to see a doctor. I am afraid I can’t go to the class. Could you help me hand in my lab report to Dr. Davidson? W: Sure, no problem. Just take care of yourself and don’t worry about the class. M: Hurry up with your food, Sally. They say there’s a big storm coming. We’d better get home before that. W: Okay, I’m done. Let’s get back to the car. Could you carry these shopping bags? W: But there is not enough cupboard space in the kitchen. M: It’s cheaper than the last one we saw. And it is in a good neighborhood. W: Well, maybe we’ll have to see if the agent has anything else to show us. 14.C 【来源】2023年全国甲卷英语真题 【原文】M: Thank you, Mrs. Johnson, for what you’ve shared with our listeners. Now, please tell us, do you sometimes feel worried about your daughter, now that she’s grown up? W: Oh, I worry about her like all parents do. After she graduated from medical school, she went to volunteer medical service in Africa. M: Wow. W: That’s okay if communication was fine. But if there was no Internet or telephone connection, we could sometimes go two weeks without getting in touch with each other. That often worries me. 17.B 【来源】2023年新课标全国Ⅰ卷英语真题 【原文】 M: Hello, Sara. W: Hello, David. I can’t come for dinner tonight. Sorry. M: Oh, what happened? W: We’ve got a new case and things get pretty crazy here in the office. M: Well, then I’ll come to you. W: No, no, not tonight. Let me see if I can arrange another night. M: Sara, please. We need to talk. It’s about my job. W: Then tell me on the phone. M: No, it’s better if we do it in person. How about tomorrow night? W: I’m not sure. You can give me a call tomorrow afternoon. W: Ethan, have you thought about getting your own house? M: Yeah. But I’m convinced my parents love having me back. What about you? W: Um... Not sure yet. Right now, I enjoy getting my meals cooked for me every day. M: Do you pay a contribution to the house? W: Of course, I do. But it’s still much less than I would pay to live in my own flat. Right?M: Obviously. W: The only thing I don’t like is that my mom wants to know every part of my life. Becky, what are you doing tomorrow? Where? With whom? The same questions every day. M: Moms are like that. They ask because they care. You’ve got to be patient with them. My parents ask those questions too, but I may not move out soon. The thought of leaving them fills me with fear. What if one of them falls over? What if they both have a fall together? W: That would be terrible. W: It’s a pretty good conference, huh? M: Yeah. All speakers are well-known and knowledgeable in the subject matter. Did you listen to John Miller’s speech on how to avoid business risks this morning? W: No, I missed that one. I went to a speech at Alan Brown Hall. The speaker was David Thompson. M: Oh, that should be a good one, too. I attended his lecture last year. By the way, there will be a workshop this afternoon on how to motivate employees. Are you interested? W: Sure. I was promoted to the position of manager a few months ago. And I have to manage a staff of 12 people. It can be quite a difficult situation sometimes. That’s why I am here today. M: Same here. I only have seven people reporting to me. Yet, sometimes I feel like pulling my hair out. I need to find a way to create harmony within my department. M: Helen, busy doing anything? W: Oh Kevin, I’m preparing a presentation for the city library. It’s about a girl named Tracy Woods. M: What’s special about her? W: It was an amazing story. She brought specially-trained dogs to special education schools and helped children to build confidence. She believes that dogs can help children in ways we can’t. Dogs don’t judge, and they don’t care who you are or what you look like. M: But putting dogs into a school? Aren’t they going to mess up the school? W: Don’t worry. All the dogs are assessed and trained properly. There are now 40 dogs working with children aged from 6 to 18. M: I hope the children love them. W: Of course they do. I’ve got some pictures. I’ll show them at my presentation tomorrow morning. M: Emily, thank you for taking time out of your busy schedule to answer a few questions. W: It’s my pleasure. M: People say you’re doing unpaid work in the new season of My Fair Lady. Is this what the show business has become? W: No, not really. All of my acting in the new season is unpaid. But the crew is paid. This is to raise money for the post-production of the show. M: I notice you’ve tried many different kinds of things: film, TV, and even theater. W: Yeah, that’s how I was trained at university. I work on anything that excites me. M: Tell us about the six months you recently spent at the workshop of the Film Center. W: It was an unbelievable experience, teaching young actors and actresses, and working with some great acting artists. It was also great to work in various labs, such as directors, writers and so on. It’s very helpful for making you a really well-rounded and active member of the film and television industry. M: Thank you very much, Emily. We look forward to your new season. W: Dave, don’t forget we are invited out to dinner tonight. M: Oh, yeah. I almost forgot. What time? W: 7:30. We should leave the house by 6:30. You know how bad the traffic is that time of night? M: It's informal, isn’t it? W: Yeah. You can wear your new sports jacket. The one I got you as an anniversary gift. M: OK, well, I’ve got to go. I’ll try to get home a little earlier today. W: Good. W: So Mr Peter Sels, I’d be curious to know what were the early connections in your life that let you into the art field? M: My grandfather was an art dealer in Munich. They had a great museum in Munich. He took me to the museum, and I responded very strongly to what I saw on the walls there. I learned about art from him, I learned about looking at art from him. I think that’s what really got me started. Then many years later, after I got out of the army, I went to study art history at the University of Chicago. W: Tell us more about your experiences of looking at art with your grandfather. M: Well, we looked at the famous paintings by the great artists like Rembrandt, Botticelli, and Albert Durer.Ruben’s paintings were my favorites. Yes, I remember these things. Do you play tennis, John? M: Yes, but not very well. Do you play? W: A little. How about a game on Tuesday afternoon? M: Sure. M: Mrs. White, I’m afraid we have to put you on a strict diet. From now on, you're going to have to stay away from salty food. W: Does that mean I can’t have any more fast food? M: Right. You can’t have any fried food or steaks. W: What about breakfast food like eggs and sausages? M: Those are all bad for you. But you can have porridge, bread and orange juice. W: Well, what about lunch and dinner? M: Have a salad for lunch. As for dinner, you can have all the vegetables you want. Fish and chicken are also okay. W: What about dessert? Can I still have ice cream? M: Yes, but not too much. M: Hi Nancy! You look worried. What’s wrong? W: Well Daniel, have you ever felt nervous on stage? M: Sure. Do you remember that play I was in a few years ago? I knew my lines, but I was terrified to have to recite them in front of an audience. As soon as I saw the crowd of people down there, my heart beat so fast that I was unable to say a single word. W: That’s how I feel just thinking about the spelling competition next week. M: I didn’t know you made it to the finals.W: I’m worried I’ll get nervous and freeze on stage. I might forget how to spell everything, even my own name. I don’t know what to do. M: Nancy, I know that you’re not going to forget how to spell your name. I’ll help you get through this. I’ll go to the school hall with you to practice. Then I’ll teach you an exercise my baseball coach taught me. Believe me. It works. W: I feel much better now. Thanks, Daniel. 46.A 8.A 【来源】2021年新高考I卷英语真题 【原文】 W: You’re out the whole afternoon, Alex? What did you do? M: I took a walk by myself. W: You just kept walking and walking for four hours? M: Actually, it’s not so boring. Walking in the woods is a grand adventure. Your feet can take you to the most amazing places. W: What did you do in the woods? M: I smelt the flowers, looked at the birds, and yeah, I picked many tree leaves. I will make bookmarks with them. Look! W: Aren’t they beautiful? M: Then I met Bob at the lake. He was fishing while his kids were having a swim. W: Did you talk to him? M: No, I walked on and took a lot of pictures. There’s just so much out there to see. W: David, how was your holiday? M: Great, I climbed Mount Fuji. It was really beautiful. Now I can check one more thing off my list. W: Your list? M: Yes. When I was 12, I made a list of things I wanted to do some day. W: That’s interesting. How many of the things on your list have you done so far? M: Almost half. I have pictures. Would you like to see them? W: Yes, sure. M: Here I am on top of Mount Fuji. And here I am in a hot air balloon. W: When did you do that? I’ve always wanted to go up in a hot air balloon. M: It was two years ago, in August, in California. W: What are your plans for the next holiday? M: I’m thinking of deep-sea diving in Australia. Do you have any other suggestions?W: You really ought to take a boat down the Amazon. You’ll see a lot of interesting animals and beautiful trees. It’s one of the best places I’ve been to. M: OK. I’ll put it on my list. M: Being an athlete is very fun, painful, and exciting. Every time I come to the track, I feel like I’m out of this place. This is Botswana National Stadium. This is where I train. When I saw Usain Bolt running in 2012 London Olympics, I was amazed. Just watching him run, got me motivated. I quit being a chess player and started to run. I went to the 2016 Olympics and went to the finals at the age of 18. And wow, I finished fifth. It was a dream come true to me, but I still wanted more. The training is super hard. But the hardest part for me is that I got an injury, an injury which may take me out for years. For a period of time, as a young athlete, I didn’t know what to do. I lost focus. But now, I’m back on the track. I really want to be there at the Olympics and do what I did before. Do much, much greater. I don’t care about the gold, I don’t care about the silver. I want to do my best, you know, take everything and show it to the world.
