On a rainy morning, I was on my way to school. The roads were wet, and many students were in a hurry.
My classmate, Lin Yu, was riding his bike. He was going very fast because he didn’t want to be late. When
Lin Yu turned the corner near our school, he didn’t see the big pool of water on the road. His bike slipped (打滑)
suddenly. He cried out as he fell off. His knee hit the hard ground, and his bike rolled into the street. A car stopped
just in time. It was so close that I held my breath. I ran to him with two other kids. His pants were worn, and there wasblood on his knee.
Luckily, our math teacher drove by. She stopped her car, and did some simple first aid for him. She cleaned
his knee gently and covered it with a clean cloth to stop the bleeding. Then she called his mum and told her to come
quickly.
Ten minutes later, Lin Yu’s mum arrived and took him to the hospital. The next day, we heard his knee was
hurt badly and he needed to rest for two weeks.
This made me remember: never rush. Being safe is more important than being on time, especially when it’s
rainy. We should always walk or ride slowly on wet roads, or we might get hurt like him.

How to Build Healthy Habits
Building healthy habits is important for our physical and mental health. Here are some practical ways to do
it.
Start small. Don’t try to change everything at once. For example, if you want to exercise more, start with a
10-minute walk every day instead of running for an hour. Small changes are easier to stick to.
Be consistent. Healthy habits need time to form. It usually takes 21-66 days to form a new habit. So keep
doing it even if you don’t see results immediately.
Make it fun. If you don’t like running, try swimming or dancing. If you find healthy food boring, learn tocook delicious meals with fruit and vegetables. When something is fun, you are more likely to keep doing it.
Ask for support. Tell your family and friends about your goal. They can encourage you and even join you.
For example, you can exercise with your friend or cook healthy meals with your family.
56.Why is building healthy habits important?
57.What should you do if you want to exercise more but don’t want to start with hard sports?
58.How long does it usually take to form a new habit?
59.How can you make healthy habits fun?
60.Who can you ask for support when building healthy habits?
【答案】56.Because it’s important for our physical and mental health. 57.Start with a 10-minute walk
every day. 58.It usually takes 21-66 days. 59.Try activities you like (such as swimming or dancing)
and cook delicious healthy meals. 60.Family and friends.

【答案】例文
Dear Judy,
I’m sorry to hear that you often have a sore neck. Here is my advice.First, you should avoid playing computer games too much. Spending hours in front of the screen with your
head in a fixed position can put great pressure on your neck. Second, don’t read books with your head lowered for
a long time. Try to keep your neck in a comfortable position while reading. Besides, it’s important to take proper
breaks. For example, take a 10-minute break every hour to stretch your body. Last but not least, doing proper
exercise like neck-stretching exercises and jogging can strengthen your neck muscles and improve blood
circulation.
I hope you will feel better soon.
Yours,
Li Hua
