Warm up:
Good morning, boys and girls! Wow, from your voice, I know all of you are ready for the
new class, right?
Lead-in:
(复习上节课)OK, before we start the new lesson, could you tell me what you have learned
in the previous class? who still remember? Ok, Mike please, I see your hands. Great, sit
down please. Mike says that we have done the oral practice about travelling. Do the rest
of you still remember? Yes~ and is there anything else? Ok~ Mary, please. Excellent! We
also learned how to obtain the main idea quickly from the listening material, right?
Yeah~you all have a good memory.
(导入新课)now~ who can guess what we are going to talk about in this oral class?
Ok~ if you have no idea, let’s look at some pictures on the screen/watch a short video.
(Ok, the video is over. ) Now who can tell me what we are going to talk about? Wow! I hear
someone saying XX. You are so smart! wonderful! We’ll see whether you are right or not in
the following part. (写板书).
Pre-speaking:
(扫清词汇和句型)Here, first of all, I’d like you to do the match exercise on the
PPT so as to learn some new words and important expressions/phrases/sentence structures
in the listening material. As you can see, on the left part of this PPT, there are some words
related with XX, and on the right part, there are some meanings. Can you match the words on
the left with the meanings on the right? Who can have a try? OK, Lucy, tell me your choice.
Great, your answer is almost right, but there is a small mistake. Did you find it? En, the first word
is “knowledgeable”(在黑板上板书写上这个单词), this word means “知识渊博的”, it is the
adjective form of acknowledge. And the second word is “airport”, before I tell you the meaning
of this word, I think we can combine what we have learned with what we are going to learn today.
I will give you some hints, when we say “by air” in English it means “乘飞机”, and “air” is
related with “飞机”, and “port” is a place where we park a ship or other vehicles. So, class, after
you have understood these, can anyone tell me the Chinese meaning of this word? Lily, please,
yes, very good. It means “ 飞 机 场 ” in Chinese. So, this can be matched with this
picture/meaning, and this word represents XX, and this is a picture about XX.
Next, let’s see some important sentence structures on the screen. The first one is “it
takes/took sb some time to do sth”. what does it mean? Yes, “”... and the question
sentence of this instruction is ? how long does/did it takes sb to do sth.
For example: how long does it take you to go home?
Who can make a sentence? Don’t be shy, just have a try. Tom, do you want to have
a try? Ok~ great, sit down please.
( 听 材 料 , 搜 集 词 汇 句 型 ) ok, since you have mastered the new words and
expressions/phrases/
Sentence structures, now let’s listen to the tape twice.
For the first time, I will read it for you. Please listen to me carefully, and try to catch the
main idea of it, OK? (you should try to catch the main idea of it, OK?) After that, I will check
whether you understand it or not, clear? Ok~ now let’s start.
Ok, let’s stop here. Have you got the answer? Now, class, who can tell me what thistext/story/passage talks about? (Who can share your idea?) En, Maria, yes please. Oh the
passage is mainly about XX. Do you agree with her? Yes! Good!
Now, it’s the second time listening. You’d better take some notes or dictations during
listening. I’d like you to catch the words and sentences describing......are you clear? Start~
(I’d like you to listen to the tape carefully and pay attention to the modal verbs “can”
and “could”. when you are listening, you should write down the sentence patterns with
the two modal verbs.)
Ok, it’s over. Have you got the key words and sentences? So read the sentences you
write down together.
Terrific!
While-speaking:
Ok~ I believe that you know well about how to ask for help or permission/use.....
It’s time to test your oral English.(直接给话题)Now here is a question for you. Listen
to me carefully: how to protect wildlife? Now works in groups and discuss about it.
Ok~ten minutes for you. Please work in your groups and share your ideas, you can refer
to the words and sentences structures above, then each group will choose one reporter to
share your group opinion to us. Let’s see which group has the most creative idea, and
which reporter talks more smoothly and clearly.
Post-speaking:
(评价)Ok, time’s up. I saw that you had a hot discussion. Now it ’ s your show time.
Can you share with us your performance? Which group goes first? Ok~ Group1, Linda is
the reporter. Ok, come into the front and show us your ideas. Don’t be nervous. Maybe
you can try to use some oral language like “well”, “ you know”, and “enhem” etc,
when getting stuck. Good conversation and good pronunciation. Let’s give them a big
hand. How about group 2? Whose your reporter? Oh~ Rita, you please. wow, you are so
active and I really enjoy your performance. Your body language and facial expressions are
as attractive as your language. Well done, come back to your seat. Group three and group
four, you also did good job. But if you can be more confident and try to replace the
words you escape with the words you are familiar with, you can be better.
Summary&Homework:
(Summary): How time flies! It’s time to make a summary. Now let’s make a summary together.
In this lesson, we learned use modal verbs and general questions to make requests or ask
for permission politely.
(Homework): ok, boys and girls. Class is almost over. And there is one last thing, what
is it? Right, our homework! When you go home, I’d like you to practice more about it and
write a short argumentation to talk about the importance of asking for help or permission politely
and how to make it. Are you clear? Ok, great! So much for today, goodbye, everyone!Teaching plan
