Dear Mike ,
I want to thank you and Larry for being my friends. When I felt stressed about my poor grades in PE last term,
you helped me out.
I couldn’t run fast and always failed the 800-metre test.I wanted to give up. You two told me,“There are many
things we can do when we feel stressed. First,we can take a break from what we are doing.” You said “Let’s stop
practising for 10 minutes.” and told me funny
stories to make me laugh. Then you said,“A problem shared is a problem halved.” You ran with me every
morning, taught me how to breathe, and said,“You can do it!” Both you and Larry cared so much about our
friendship, and through all these little things, you showed me what true friendship really is.Finally,I passed the
test.
These three things alone are great for reducing stress—your time, your help, and your cheers.
Thank you for being my good friends.

中间段
After that, Tom stopped talking to me, and I felt even_(情绪升级,如 "lonely and regretful"). I wanted to
apologize but was too proud to do so. My sister noticed my sadness and advised me,"(他人建议,如 'You should
listen to his side first; although you're angry, misunderstanding needs communication')." I took her advice and
called Tom. He told me he lost the notebook by accident and was too scared to tell me._(解决过程,如 "We
talked for a long time and cleared the air"). I realized I was too hard on him until we communicated openly.
结尾段
This experience made me grow up.I learned that_(情绪管理方法,如 "anger can't solve problems; we should
control our emotions first"). Now, when I feel upset, I will_(具体做法,如 "take a deep breath and talk to
someone I trust") so that I won't make impulsive mistakes. Growing up means learning to deal with emotions
properly, doesn't it?
◆范文
A Lesson in Managing Emotions
Last week, I had a terrible argument with my teammate Li Hua during a basketball game, and it became a
valuable lesson in managing emotions. It happened when I missed a key shot, and Li Hua shouted at me, "You let
the whole team down!" I felt so angry and embarrassed that I yelled back, "It's not just my fault!" Then I walked
off the court and didn't talk to him for days.
After that, I felt lonely and couldn't focus on practice. My coach noticed and said, "Although Li Hua was
rude, he just cared about the team. You won't fix the problem until you talk to him." I thought about his words and
decided to find Li Hua. I apologized for my impulsive reaction, and he said he was sorry for shouting at me. We
talked for a while and cleared the air.
This experience taught me a lot. I learned that controlling anger is important when working with others. Now,
when I feel upset, I will take a deep breath first so that I won't say hurtful things. Growing up isn't just about
getting older--it's about learning to understand others and manage my emotions.
