Ask Dr. Drew
I’m here to help you keep fit and well.
◆ Too busy to exercise!
My wife says I’m putting on weight and I should do more exercise (She’s super fit—she’s
just done the Marathon!), but I just don’t have time because I have a very stressful job. And I
have to t____67____ a lot. For example, I once spent 80 hours in a week flying between
different cities. How can I find time to have a fitness routine? What should I do?
—James
◆ I get bored doing exercise!
I do exercise—I understand how important it is, but I get so bored. I tried s____68____,

—Cherry
◆ I hurt my ankle so b____69____!
I’m a keen keep-fitter, but this morning when I was out running I fell and hurt my ankle. I
think it doesn’t matter, but it’s quite a serious one. What kind of exercise I should do while I’m
injured? I can’t even walk very well at the moment.
—Jason
Advice from Dr. Drew
◆ Dear James,
You should make exercise as part of your daily life—you shouldn’t sit at your desk all day.
Perhaps there is a gym n____70____ where you work—keep some sports clothes at work and
go there for just 15 minutes during your lunch break when you can. You don’t have to exercise
for a1____71____ period. Ten minutes every now and then is enough.
◆ Dear Cherry,
Oh dear! I think you should try a different kind of sports. I don’t think you should exercise
a____72____. It can help if you do it with other people—what about a sport, such as tennis, or
perhaps dancing? There are all kinds of dance classes—you’re sure to find one you like.
◆ Dear Jason,
You must see a doctor! You must find out how serious the injury is. If not, you should do
some g____73____ exercise at first. Perhaps some exercise in water or yoga (瑜伽) classes are
good choices. Later, you can try strong exercise with the doctor’s guide.
