Liaoning Provincial Museum (省博物馆) is a fun place for many students. They love to go there. Why?
Let’s find out.
Many schools cooperate with the museum. “About 100 schools bring their students here to have classes.
Reciting poems (背诵诗歌) is often boring and difficult for students. To make it easy and fun, we give talks about
poems and make shows to tell the stories of poets (诗人) like Li Bai, Du Fu, and Lu You. We also teach students
to write calligraphy (书法),” says Dong, a man from the museum.
Interestingly, the museum makes plays about those poets and asks students to act in them. Students recite
poems in the plays and get to experience the lives of the poets.
The museum also cares about village students. It gives shows about the poets on a bus. The bus is like a
moving (移动的) museum and it goes to villages far from the museum.
The museum brings ________ to students’ lives and makes it so fun. That’s why students have a great love
for the museum.

5.What’s the structure (结构) of the passage? (① means paragraph 1.)
A. B. C. D.Fun activities are important in our lives. However, they have both good and bad sides.
The good sides of fun activities are great. First, they make us happy. Playing ball games with our friends
makes us laugh. Second, they help us make friends. In a reading club, we can meet others with similar interests.
We can share ideas and talk about our favourite writers. Then we can become good friends. Third, they make us
learn more. For example, when we do fun science experiments, we get curious. Then we ask lots of questions. All
these can help us learn more.
However, there are some bad sides. First, they can be dangerous. For example, it’s easy for us to ignore the
risks (忽视风险) of some sports. We may get hurt if we were not careful. Also, some fun activities can make us
depend on them too much. Take playing video games for example, if we play them all the time, we will find it
hard to do other things without smartphones.
So, what can we do to enjoy fun in the right way? We should be careful when doing sports. Our parents can
set time limits (限制) for some fun activities. They can also encourage us to try new hobbies, so we won’t depend
on certain fun activities all the time. This way, we can enjoy fun and stay healthy in a balanced way.
1.What are the good sides of fun activities from Paragraph 2?
①Bringing happiness. ②Helping make friends.
③Helping write good stories. ④Making us learn more.
A.①②③ B.①②④ C.①③④ D.②③④

3.The writer introduces the bad sides of fun activities by ______.

4.Which shows the structure of the passage?
A. B.
C. D.

Over the break time between classes, Xiao Jingsheng from Beijing Shangdi Experimental School often
rushed to the toilet and back to class with no time for anything else, but now that has changed. “I can have more
time to rest and share interesting things with my classmates,” said the 14-year-old.
Starting this term, students at primary and middle schools in Beijing have longer breaks between classes,
changing from 10 minutes to 15 minutes. The change is to encourage students to spend time outdoors for their
physical and mental (心理的) health.
To allow children to enjoy break-time activities, some schools have mixed break time with labor education
(劳动教育) by opening areas for planting and feeding animals.
“We have welcomed new friends to our school—some ducks and rabbits!” said Zhang Boren, a 13-year-old
from Beijing 101 Middle School. “There are fewer students sitting at their desks. Some play with these cute
animals, while others exercise on the playground. We get closer to nature, which is quite new and relaxing.”
Some schools have opened up activity areas both indoors and outdoors. At Chaoyang Middle School, the
ground floor of the teaching building has opened a biology lab for students to study the life of animals and plants.
The second-floor hallway is designed with spaces for free reading and chess games.
As the break time is longer, making sure everyone is safe is also important. P.E teachers from the school
keep an eye on students playing on the ground. “Sometimes the ground can be wet in the morning, so we remind
the students to do more upper body exercises to avoid running and falling down,” said one PE teacher.
