教学目标
(一)语言目标:
1.New words and phrases: basketball, magazine, hair band, glasses, school bag,
note book, school uniform, owner, belong to, take care of.
2. Sentences: Sentences about how to make inferences and give reasons, such as:
It/They can’t be sb’s because ……
It /They may be sb’s.
It/They must be sb’s because ……
3. Grammar: 1. Master the usage of model verbs: can’t\may\must
2. Distinguish the meaning of each model verb and use them to make inferences.
(二)能力目标:
1. Enable the students to master the new words and phrases.
2. Enable the students to master how to use the model verbs to make inferences and then give
reasons for their inferences.
3. Enable the students to learn to use some other phrases or sentence patterns to beautify their
writing.
(三)情感目标:
1.Encourage the students to show their love to others and always be ready to help others.
2. Encourage students to be independent by making their own inferences.
3. Encourage students to help others if someone is in trouble.
4. Encourage students to learn to cooperate with each other in their daily life.
2学情分析
The students in Grade 9 have been learning English for three years in the Middle School. Now
their English are in different levels. The knowledge in this unit is not too difficult for them,
because most of the words are easy and they are familiar with them. The sentence patterns are
also not too difficult for them to master. And the topic is very close to their daily life. So thestudents are interested in this lesson. Besides, teenagers are curious and creative in character, so
they will surely be more excited and be willing to help others.
3重点难点
1. Collect some useful phrases and sentences.
2.Enable the students to master how to use the model verbs to make inferences and then give
reasons for their inferences.

活动1【导入】Lead－in and warm up
1.Divide the students into four groups and have a group competition the whole
class.
2. Ask: What did you do last Friday? (We had a school sports meeting.)
3. Say: Our volunteers found many things lost on the playground, what are they?
4. Teach the new words in the pictures.Get the students remember all the words
in one minute.
5.Play a game: Catch your eyes to check if they have mastered all the words.
活动2【导入】Sentence patterns
1. Use some interesting photos and get the students to learn the sentences: It
can’t/may/must be sb’s.
2. Guide them to give their reason of their inferences.活动3【活动】Group－work
Get the students work with your partner, look at the conversation, and fill in the
blanks with can’t/may/must. At last, show me your reasons.
活动4【练习】Writing evaluation and report
1. Read the writing evaluation carefully.
2. Learn how to give scores.
3. Evaluate their partner’s writing.
4. Make a report.
活动5【作业】Writing a composition
Get the students to correct their article and then write a compostition after class.
