教学目标
Teaching aims:
1 By practicing listening and oral English, students can review how to make ,accept and decline
the invitations politely;
2 Practice the key sentence structures: “I must/have to/would like to ,He/she must/has
to/would like to ... “to refuse the invitation.
3 Learn how to accept and decline the invitations.

本节课是一节语法复习课,教师必须在复习sectionA的同时对语法知识进行总结和归纳,同时
也要在活动中激发学生的学习兴趣,达到夯实基础提高能力的双重目的。

活动1【讲授】can you come to my party Grammar Focus
1 Lead- in
Teacher shows a calendar and make an invitation to the students.
T: Hello, boys and girls , can you come to my birthday party?It is on July 1st.
S:Sorry , I can’t . I have to prepare for my final exam.
(By making an invitation ,teacher wants students to review how to accept and
decline the invitations politely.)2 Review
Firstly, teacher asks students to divide the phrases into two parts, one is about
how to accept the invitation, the other is about how to decline the
invitation.Students should put the cards around the gift boxes on the blackboard ,
which make the blackboard design more clearly and help the students practice
their oral English later;
Secondly, teacher shows some phrases such as prepare for an exam, go to the
doctor.. in a turntable to review the reasons why they decline the invitation.
Thirdly, teacher shows the phrases quickly and ask students to repeat the phrase.
Teacher designs a game called “Boom”:Behind some gift boxes are there two
bombs, if students read the word with a bomb after it, it will blow up.Teacher can
make students read the phrases faster and faster.
(This game can push students to recite the key phrases ,which can be helpful for
the later steps. It can also encourage students to pay attention to the phrases and
not to get districted.)

Two students ask and answer the following sentences:

Sorry, I can’t ./ I am afraid not.

Imagine the superstars in the running man receive Miss Yang’s birthday
invitation , can they come? Students in a group play each role of them ,discuss
and then make a report.

Teacher flies several balloons which come out into the sky with some information,
students should act quickly and repeat the phrases. (By speaking ,students can
understand the language points thoroughly.)
6 Chant:
Students should chant and review what they have learnt .
7 Complete the sentences by using the brackets to help them.

9 Writing on Miss Yang’s invitation cards:
Students are invited to Miss Yang’s birthdayparty on a summer holiday
evening ,they should write down :Can they come ?Why ?Why not?
(By writing ,students can use what they have learnt in a real context and language
environment, which can make them handle the language easily.)
