In the recent Grade 7 subject activities, we used paintbrushes to depict the resilience of heroic women, allowing their immortal spirits to travel through time; we replicated the splendor of millennia-old treasures with our skillful hands, feeling the warmth of Chinese civilization; and we wove the light and shadow of our campus with AI technology, unleashing our youthful dreams through the collision of creativity and technology. Thus begins a journey of exploration that blends the ancient and the modern, connecting humanities and technology!

Chinese：Eternal Glories of the Feminine Valor

From the feudal era to the modern age of equality for all, generations of women have risen amid the tides of time. With their wisdom and talent, they have made indispensable contributions to society. Figures such as Fu Hao, Marie Curie, and Tu Youyou endured far greater pressure and hardships, yet remained steadfast in their convictions, breaking through countless insurmountable barriers set by prejudice.

After learning The Ballad of Mulan, Hua Mulan — resolute, courageous, loyal, and filial — has left a lasting impression on students’ hearts. With paintbrushes in hand, students have portrayed these self-reliant and tenacious female heroes, ensuring their stories are endured and celebrated for thousands of years.

History: Treasured Heritage Shines Across China

“Great rituals define Xia; exquisite garments define Hua.” For thousands of years, the Chinese nation has carried forward its heritage, leaving behind countless cultural treasures. By “reading” cultural relics, we marvel at the exquisite craftsmanship of ancient people and witness the continuous development and progress of the Chinese nation through millennia.

From world-famous Tang tri-colored pottery and blue and white porcelain to delicate traditional pastries and tea desserts that are works of art, these wonders inspire students’ vivid imagination of ancient times. Though our craftsmanship may still be imperfect, recreating these ancient works allows us to follow in the footsteps of our ancestors and explore the magnificent Chinese culture. Only by delving into history can we truly understand our nation’s precious cultural legacy.

Geography Exploration: AI Showcases Creativity and Charm

Time flies swiftly, and artificial intelligence technology has advanced by leaps and bounds. Drawing on their knowledge of AI, students have independently created original promotional videos for their campus.

These videos unfold like scrolls of campus life: teenagers running freely across the grounds, embodying the unrestrained vitality of youth; overseas-returned college students revisiting their alma mater, flooded with bittersweet memories of their school days; and even Qin Shi Huang, the First Emperor of Qin, depicted visiting the campus to admire the remarkable achievements of later generations. Blending technology with boundless creativity, these videos perfectly capture the beauty of the campus as envisioned by the students.

Although the subject activities have come to an end, those vivid images of heroic women, the exquisite cultural treasures, and the cool AI short films have already been deeply engraved in the students’ hearts. In Chinese, we feel the power of the spirit; in history, we gain cultural confidence; in geography exploration, we embrace the future. May every student in HBBSS carry this passion and spirit of exploration to write their own brilliant chapters in the wider world!
